You raise the hose starting at the tank and walk with the hose in the air to drain it.

The same as rolling the hose. It's just a way to drain your hoses after you've dropped. It takes all the weight of the gasoline or whatever you're dropping and as you roll the hose you can load it on the truck..

Don't forget about not dropping the end of the hose on the pavement. Set it down gently, maybe catch it with the toe of your boot.
If you drop the end of the hose the fitting can get out of round and then it's difficult to use.

When I did fuel I used the roll method. Unhook from the truck/trailer, plug the truck/trailer, cap the hose then in about a 4-5’ circle roll the hose towards the tank, with the tank end being at the bottom of the roll, let it drain a second, then let the hose roll lay down, unhook and plug the hose, walk back pickup the other end stuff her in the hose tube, then unhook plug the vapor, stuff it in the tube, walk it just to be safe, unhook n plug it then stuff her in the tube. I always stuff the hose tubes with the truck/trailer end first that way when to pull them out they come out customer end first. Biggest thing to do is get a routine down and make it habit as in like you can do it with your eyes closed type of habit.

Normally the pumps at the airports and the pump on the trailer pulls all of the jet fuel out of the hoses.
