Hello! I just put in my 2 week notice at my company. I have been here for 1 year and no longer want to run all 48 states for .38cpm. I usually stay out 3-5 months at a time because I'm age 22 with no bills (live with mom & dad). Anyways I saved up about $10k and here are my options.

    1. Go owner operator with interstate distributor. (lease from lone mountain or a dealership)
    2. Switch to company car hauling with hansen.
    3. Try to go owner operator with quality carriers and get a truck through db kustoms.
    4. Switch to company dry bulk or chemical tankers.

The goal is to rack up as much cash before age 26. Keep in mind that I have no bills to going owner operator is 10x easier for me that the average person with wife, kids, house, car, etc.

    Advice needed please thanks!

Friends son started with one of the car haulers back in Dec., after 6 mos. hauling dry vans. He seems to like it.

With one year of experience, why not get hired on with a company that pays a higher base? There are all kinds out there, and that would enable you to save even more

Yes. I thought about that aswell but that would require me to switch away from pulling refrigerated trailers right?

@Gucci25 I agree with Gunner . . . either #2 or #4 personally, but car-hauling usually want WAY more experience than one year, in my neck of the woods, anyway. Tankers pay well; it's what I do. I haul asphalt, but look at some of the other guys, like @GasHauler and such; probably bank more than me (if you can get into that with a year~!)

I would stay away from L/P and O/O if you want to bank some bucks in the next few years. So much can happen when you run your own show; you may be in the red for five before you really turn much of a profit. Like said above; almost better to go to Vegas with $10K. It sounds like a nice bank, but not enough to wing it alone, IMHO.

Why would you have to stop pulling refer? There are tons of companies that haul refer, honestly there are tons of options out there. I know you said you'd like to haul cars. There is pmgt that's hiring inexperienced drivers for hauling cars, orientation is 2 weeks long, and you'll get a freightliner argosy once released
