For you to turn down taking a load?
Only load I can ever remember turning down. Taking a load of water to Florida.
So what was the big deal?
According to the weather channel. I would have arrived in Florida the same time Hurricane Andrew hit full force.
what would it take?

If the load isn't worth firing the truck up for, I won't haul it....this is a business, not a hobby. I want to see profit or I'm not going to run the load.
If the load infringes upon other plans that I've made...whether they are truck related (i.e. scheduled shop time) or personal (doctors appointment, etc.)...I won't load it. When I tell dispatch that I need to be somewhere or can't work on a certain day, I mean it.
If something comes up, such as an unexpected visit from an out-of-town friend or family member, I'm probably going to turn down a load or two in order to spend time visiting with them. I don't live to work...I work to live.
I don't generally care where loads are going, what I'm hauling, or anything else like that. As long as it pays and doesn't conflict with anything else I have going on, I'll run it.MNdriver Thanks this. -

Hmm.. Maybe a 300 mile load picking up Monday that delivers on Friday with no chance of early delivery and no ability to leave it at a drop yard?

A load that can't be run legal and safe! no load is worth my life or my livelyhood

I was offered a 22 mile load from our yard in Denver to a Denver Kmart. 4 days on the load, no early delivery. No thank you... Here's the kicker, 20+ local trucks were sitting at the yard... Go figure... Only at SWIFT!
