I've been having a heck of a time finding work this year and no one is giving me feedback. I was digging around on Tenstreet and in "Docs" I saw work history reports when I applied to different companies. These are the reports that they get. The odd thing is there is a lot missing from those reports. Two companies that I worked for in the past for about a year respectively are not showing up in the report. That's two years of experience I'm saying I have that is not showing up. I also went to Hire Right and submitted a request for a copy of my DAC and it said the same thing. I sure do wish companies would actually talk to me and tell me what's up. If anyone out there said I had X years they could verify and not Y, I would have known right away there was a problem. I'm fed-up with being an employee and being at the mercy of companies!
Anyway, what do I do? Can I sue former employers who don't confirm my work history? For both companies I'm aware of, I didn't leave on bad terms. I didn't abandon equipment. One of those companies I would drive for again if they offered me the same job and pay. I really don't appreciate the fact that I was hung out to dry for months and no one has been communicating with me. Two companies I worked for in the past didn't respond to inquiries, and no prospective employer replied to me either. I was about to put my CDL in a shredder because the only jobs I was getting offers for were total garbage with garbage pay and long periods away from home.
Has anyone else out there had an experience like this? What did you do to correct it? Use tax records?
By the way, just for curiosity's sake, can I remove things from my DAC report work history? There is a company where I attended orientation but never worked for, but it shows up and says I quit during orientation. I was lied to about pay and only found out during orientation, at the very end of orientation, that the recruiter lied. I won't name that company. The recruiter was independent. I will say the pay they were actually offering was not competitive. I don't want to look like a "job hopper". What's worse, a long period of unemployment, or more than a certain number of jobs in a given time? Since we're on this subject, should I just leave off the seasonal work I did last fall?
Thank and thanks.

Do you have W-2 forms where you filed income taxes? Most companies accept that.

Don't leave off seasonal work.TX2Day Thanks this. -
They're only required to verify past 3 years I think it is.
Apply to companies that don't use or care about dac. Long haul isn't the only option in trucking. -

It also matters where you live. You live in a state that it’s not business friendly. Some small companies do not want to hire from your state because the insurance will go up. There are some places that still look for drivers Northern, Michigan, and Wisconsin still have quite a bit of openings. Consider relocating into an area that has room for growth.

I'm back in Greenville, SC. The job prospects are no better here than in IL. Greenville is possibly my least favorite place on Earth. Developers have ruined it. Traffic is horrible. It's like Atlanta Lite! Fewer carbs, same great taste! Wisconsin was cool, but I wouldn't like having to deal with Chicago. Northern Michigan sounds nice. I like cool weather and rural towns. Please tell me more about little farm towns in northern Michigan! Hopefully one with an Orthodox church! -
I've had several quit in orientation on my dac and never had a problem. I tell the prospective company they were crap, and still want to hire me.
