How can the op know about the 2 seconds for the light change? This story is so full of holes as to not even be a start of anything to decipher.

Swift does have a "7 deadly sins" when involved in a wreck that's an immediate fire. I forget how many and what all are, but two I remember are rollovers and getting in a wreck, regardless of fault while doing a U turn. There are at least a few more, but I forget them.
For the most part though yes, one wreck will not cause one to be fired.buddyd157 Thanks this. -
Swift probably did you a favour in the long run.
FlyingHome, Texas_hwy_287, 70’Nova and 7 others Thank this. -
Its called defensive driving, It is a good practice to check intersections before going through them, even when there green for you.
First thing I taught my kids when teaching them to drive to start with, may come from riding bikes most of my life, where right becomes dead right.
SWIFT is saying that they believe it was a preventable accident, maybe it was, maybe it wasn't I can't say I wasn't there.
I had a company that gave me a hard time for rolling a truck, when CHP determined it was mechanical failure as to the cause of the accident.
Just because they have an opinion does not mean they have the correct opinion.
Could they review the dashcam footage (I believe they can) this could have revealed something they think could have been a contributing cause, like you talking on a cell phone, playing with the radio, etc...BigDog Trucker, Farmerbob1, FlaSwampRat and 1 other person Thank this. -

I was just fired yesterday, I rolling stopped at a stop sign. They called me in the office and terminated me. No warning or prior issues.

It's over with Swift; move on to another company.
Any other writeups or tickets?
Where is your location; probably a dozen companies will hire you.Danny707, x1Heavy, FlaSwampRat and 4 others Thank this. -
Hard to know what exactly happen, I have known drivers getting fired for no reason they claim, later find out they had loads of evidence showing the driver doing stuff other than driving like watching tv, porn or texting, at night you can see the reflections on the windshield pretty good some are so well you can the very letters they type in the text. All they did was tried to prevent a lawsuit from gross negligence. I am not saying that case here but if every driver is in fact innocent and not held accountable his own actions the road would be a much more dangerous place.
Like Chinatown said move on and find a new home.FlaSwampRat and Coffey Thank this. -
It won’t take much to do better than the likes of Swift.
MaalSr8732, FlaSwampRat, hotrod1653 and 5 others Thank this.
