In my recent unemployment I’ve been trying to make the most of my time working under the table for a moving company, and while I have a good job offer starting in a couple weeks I’m keeping an eye out for better opportunity. I had 3 zoom interviews. 2 of them I did in between moves at work. One of them I did this morning at my house while I had on a nice shirt I was only wearing gym shorts but had camera mounted so he wouldn’t see below my chest.
I like the zoom interview. Allows you to have multiple interviews without having to spend time and money on gas driving around.
You don’t necessarily even need to have pants on.
Anyone else here do the online interview thing ?

i'd always walked the yard with someone during the interview, or during a time, that i could do so, and not be seen.
i wanted to "scope out" the inventory of trucks, trailers, shop, if on site, and the general cleanliness of the entire place.
i think that these Zoom meetings are a fallacy that hide things, from the potential new hire.
if i cannot interview in person, i have no opportunity to "read" the face or get a "feeling" on what is being said.
being on "tv" as it is for an interview, to me allows too many things to be unseen.shooter19802003, bentstrider83, Midwest Trucker and 6 others Thank this. -
Oh I scope out their facilities. Via Google Earth.
But with zoom you the job seeker can do so many more Interviews than normal.bentstrider83 and JoeyJunk Thank this. -

And after they say you're hired, then go look at equipment. Dont wast time and gas driving everywhere for a no answer.
You can always refuse the job offer.bentstrider83 and Shackdaddy Thank this. -

I like to see who I'm applying to also.
And if you're short on experience. They usually want a test drive.
How's the pre employment drug screen happen these days? You still gotta get a slip from the office before going to pee? -
snowwy Thanks this.
