I was at C.R. England for about 12 days when they sent me home a day before my cdl test for work verification.
Day 1
Arrived late at night and filled some paperwork out. Got to the hotel and they apparently had no rooms for us. C.R. England FORGOT to call them and verify. Took 2 hours to get settled, so we get rooms right at about 11:30 P.M. we are told to be ready at 4:45 a.m.......wth?
Day 2
I'm up and ready at 4:00 and we all are waiting in lobby. No one shows....we call at 5...6...7...8... and no answer. C.R. England calls hotel and says they forgot we were here. So someone shows up at....10:45 A.M.
The rest of the week went like this.
Up at 4:45 a.m. at school around 5:45 a.m. and school starts at 7:00 a.m. THIS HAPPENED EVERY SINGLE DAY
The instructors weren't so bad, but didn't exactly know the current laws and everything. Out of 80 people who took permit, I was 1 of 20 who got it the first day. Now mind you I missed 1 ENTIRE day due to going to the drs. office an hour away and them having absolutely no where near enough bus drivers nor buses.
Day 5
I learn to straight line back. Had no problems, but the instructor was an ####### who yelled and screamed at us. I got frustrated and said there was no way I can back this up without you explaining WHY I DO THE MOVES YOU TELL ME. So I backup across the entire yard after I'm unable to offset back to the drivers side since I had no clue how, so after backing up over 500ft across the yard I FINALLY GOT IT.
Day 6/7/8/9
I backup great and can do the straight line, off set left/right, and parallel parking. I passed my evaluations with a 90% because I used a few pullups but I NEVER ENCROACHED.
Day 10/11
I am out on the road. I pulled it out for the first time on the real road and realized, THIS IS IT. This is what I am going to do for the rest of my life, I just fell in love with it. So we learn to shift up and down, I'm not the best but I got it the 1st day enough to only miss 1/2 downshifts a day. We also learn how to turn and all that good jazz. The driving instructor was very cool and relaxed. He taught me a lot about how to feel the gate on downshifting, which helped me learn what RPMs to rev up to.
Day 12
We are doing the same thing as day 10/11 but this time, he only gives instruction when needed. We went on the freeway and I did great, he then scheduled the cdl test a few days early for Day 13. We go to lunch, I come back and he says someone wants to see me. I go down and talk.....well.....they can't verify my work....you get to go home. :/ The instructor and everyone else in my group shocked, all of them saying that I should just go take the test at home. I'm currently in the process of enrolling in Trainco here in Taylor, MI.
Other reasons people were sent home:
Health issues
Drug issues
Profanity
Racism
Child Support
Suspended License
This one is my favorite, someone had mentioned to a driving instructor he was only going to stay the 9 month contract and leave. Well the instructor refused to teach him....and no other instructor could teach him right? Some instructors had 6 people and some had 1/2.....
This is C.R. England. Please look elsewhere my friends. I have been around this industry through my family my whole life, this is NOT a company you want to train through, work for, or even consider. Do yourself a favor, stay away from C.R. They will be out of business soon enough working like they do.

That sucks, man. They did you a huge favor. You'll get past this and succeed elsewhere. Of this, I have no doubt.

Marky84 and NavigatorWife Thank this. -
You can do a lot better than C.R. England anyway, so I wouldn't take it as a loss. Just a better opportunity to find a good company.
NavigatorWife and Reycer Thank this. -
I agree with the others. They did you a huge favor.

CRE will NOT be going out of business any time soon, there's too many simpletons standing in line to do their schooling and drive their red trucks for nothing. -

Consider yourself lucky, you just escaped from a beast. It's better to be unemployed than to work at CR England, and that's not a joke, I'm serious.
skyviper73 and Puppage Thank this. -
Will they send you home for a domestic violence misdemeanor from 2010?
