I went through training for my cdl and drove 6 months for this company. They never mentioned this in any of the classes, heard about it at a truck stop from an ex-cre driver.
If you press the gas pedal all the way to the floor three times in a row then the 62 mph governor is disabled for 30 minutes. This was useful for those times I wanted to pass someone that was doing one or two mph less than myself on the interstate. It seems that you can only use it once every day or so.
I now work for jbhunt and they too limit truck speeds. Too bad it does not work on these guys as well.
A secret to make your cr england truck go faster than the 62 mph limit

are you sure you were only going 62???? cuz i drive 65 and england passes me up all day long. in cali. they're doing 70.
both lease and company trucks. -
I know the leased and owned trucks do not require the speed governors. Both my phase 1 and 2 trainers and myself included were all company drivers and all of us could never go faster than 62 mph normally.
-
So it over-rides the 62 mph and lets you triple digit the thing?
Or puts you at 65? -
It turns off the limiter. You can do 65,66, as high as you can get to in top gear without blowing the engine. I used it usually around the speed limit, definitely do not want to get a speeding ticket and try to explain to safety why or even how you were speeding on i-10 through west texas.

i'd like to kjnow why safety hasn't said anything already.
like i said. you all blow by me. all day long. every day. and the speed limit is 55 on the west coast states. -
