Okay, I am going to take my chances here. I am going to be going to Salt Lake City to be trained by CR England, and I have heard a lot of bad things about them in here. I am asking - PLEASE - if anyone - ANYONE at all - has some good things to say about them, say them in this thread here.
If there is not anything positive out there, and only negative things, the silence will speak for itself. I know I can't control the threads and what gets posted, and I am new here, and it may seem like gall to ask, but I would like to ask that just in this thread - the negative posts about CRE be kept out and only those with positive things to say post.
Like I said - if there is silence, that will speak for itself - I just don't want to have to sift through all the negative stuff to find the positive stuff. So far, this looks like my only open door into the industry, and I am determined to enter this industry and I just need some positive reinforcement here.
Anyone out there with positive things to say about CR England? Anyone at all? PLEASE hear my call and post a reply or replies!

I am too new to post links, but I just googled CR England and the third thing that came up with this Ripoffreport site that had SIXTY FIVE entries regarding CR England!
This is getting very discouraging.
And look here, I asked that people please not post anything negative replies to my post - and here I am doing just that.
sigh..........
I want to get in! And SWIFT won't take me because of my location. They say they don't hire from where I am.
What can I do? The clock is ticking. I need work. It looks like I am going to have to bite the bullet and take my chances with this company.
Again, anyone with positive feedback regarding CRE, please come forth!

Why do I get the feeling that if this thread can make noise, I would be hearing the sound of crickets?

I too have been looking into this industry for well over a year now. Last year i went to Schneiders training in Carlisle Pa, training was good but i did not pass CDL test in Binimgton NY. So depressed I came home got a job driving a mini-bus. I found a local school in Central Islip took lessons and got my CDL a month ago. I have applied to quite a few training co's. My apps have been approved by Prime and Maverick so far and Stevens(arghh). Ithink I will go with Prime orietation in Feb as a company reefer driver, i would check into them if i were you, training is long but safe! Well good luck! By the way where on Long Island ya live, I'm just east of Pt Jefferson myself.

Oh i was getting the " we don't hire from your neck of the woods" stuff alot! Especially from the deep south company's. Some even had yards in friggin Jersey! If i can throw a few idea's at ya, check out ************web site they list about 20 or so training company's. Check into Schneider
they accepted me a year ago, also CFI has a pretty good deal going for newbie's and they were ready to hire me too! Any other newbie hints just let me know, been researching awhile now! bug-out -
Hiya bug!
By the way, that link didn't show up... I am in Babylon - south shore. I was thinking about Commercial Driver Training up on Edison Ave, but they don't guarantee a job.
God, at first I thought maybe the posters in this forum just had this anti-England agenda, but I did some googling and the results were not very impressive.
However, I did find that they do have one of the best training programs.
You know, I still haven't put my eggs into any baskets just yet. I haven't signed anything. I might check out Schneider. The problem is - I really don't have much cash to lay out. I need for the company to hire me first - and finance me.
Swift seemed like a good deal, but I mean, what the hell - like I posted before - they must think we're all a bunch of hoodlum yanks here on Long Island lol
I claim location discrimination! lol
I just quit the taxi business after 14 years in it and I AM NOT going back! I made up my mind to get into the trucking industry and I am going to do it.
Even if I have to bite the bullet and go with England until my tuition contract expires or whatever.
I did see a couple of good things about them, but most were bad.
I don't know. I mean hearing stories about trainers dropping dead and the trainee being left at a truck stop for 3 days and stuff like that. It's rather unnerving.

Well, alright. I am calling Schneider tomorrow morning and I am going to look into what they have to offer as well. I do feel a little bit guilty as the recruiter I spoke to on the phone regarding CRE spent almost 45 minutes explaining everything to me - and it seemed great - until I came across this forum and did further research on my own - outside this forum.
I went to the Schneider job site and they seem a little more informative regarding the whole process. While the England website seems to be more secretive about it all. All talk about how great the family is and how big the company is and how much revenue they take in, etc... but never saying much about what it's like to work for them. While Schneider goes into much more detail.
Well, in a way I am glad I saw all this because now I am going to just take a step back and review my options. I have nothing to lose. Both companies seem to have the same basic deal - 14 days in class - a few weeks OTR paid training for about 400 bucks a week - and then off with my own truck.
Also, Schneider seems to have a more divided area... Where as you have the northeast, southwest, etc... unlike England, where they give no specific boundaries. With Schneider, according to their website, it seems you can choose to just work the Northeast area... from Virginia up to Maine, Pennsylvania, etc... not running rampid all over the country. (But that is kind of what I wanted to do, actually... really see the country at first).
I don't know. Since I am new to this whole thing, without experience, I really can't be choosy. I am not in a position to be picky. I need to appreciate anything I can get right now - even if it is... England.
We'll see.
Anyone with advice regarding the differences between England and Schneider, please help me out.
BillyFZ37 Thanks this. -
They both have their negative aspects. I've heard far less grief about Schneider than C.R.E.
Just remember, as a rookie, you're going to see more than your share of cr*p. For the most part,go with the flow, and you'll be OK.dclerk Thanks this.
