You might also look into getting an AIRHAWK seat cushion. I have one myself and I like it. It's a little pricey at around $120.00 but I found it helps ease the ride..

The link here says it can be bought for around $90.00 ..Could it be the truckstops ripped me off?!

I just received my wedge cushion and will see how it works. Hope it helps the low back pain. Thanks for the info.
-
I hope it works as well for you as mine has for me!! Good Luck and hopefully comfortable trucking!!
-
Well, after a couple months, the cushion had no effect on my lower back pain. It was a "cheapy" one.

Sorry to barge in, I'm not a doctor, I'm not even a trucker. But I am told I am smart.
The wedge cushion is not supposed to cushion your seating. It's supposed to force your spine to make a deeper angle with your thighs, hence putting more weight on those instead of your tailbone. That's probably where your original problems with back pains lie.
If it's your scrotum or butt (gluteus maximus) that's hurting, I don't know about the wedge cushion, but it might be bad ventilation? Cotton is known to be able to "breathe" easier than cheaper materials, or so I am told. This would cause red skin and itching, of course, not pain in the bone and muscle tissue.
Again, sorry for barging in, I'll go back to Euro Truck Simulator 2 now ... o/ -

I see all these expensive cushions here... I bought one in Brasil that was only about $ 15.00 and it worked very well for over one year. It's a water cushion used specifically for folks with back problems and sores...
I totally loved it but after over one year it started leaking... Tried to find them here in the USA but it's not sold... I wonder why... that is a great seat! -
My experience is that I get less sore, to the point of not experiencing any pain at all, when I air up the seat to the point where my thighs rest on the bottom cushion, thereby supporting my legs and taking pressure off the knees and straightening the lower spine rather that curving it. Taking pressure off it.

Maybe you all know already, but here goes. I've known truck drivers with sciatica problems and it can originate from a trucker sitting on his wallet, and driving for hours. This literally shuts the blood off from the area, starving the nerves of oxygenated blood, and leads to chronic pain.
