xm antenna mount for t660?

    Hey guys, decided to stop burning through phone plan data and pick up an xm radio. Only problem I have is that I can't find a good place to mount the satellite antenna.

    I'm driving a 2012 t660 with a Qualcomm, I understand that the Qualcomm and radio can be spliced together to make use of a built in satellite antenna, but I frequently have issues with the Qualcomm which I think would cause loss of reception. Not to mention I don't want to pay a company shop guy $50+ to do some simple electrical work (they don't pay me enough for that lol)

    I've done a little digging around but can't find a hole in the firewall that would allow me to run it out through the hood and up on top of the cab.

    Does anyone have a decent, simple solution? I currently have the antenna on my dash and it works ok, but its an eye sore, plus I lose reception when I park near other trucks.

    I wouldn't splice into your qualcomm, that runs off of cell towers not satellite.

    Which mount do you have? The little square magnet antenna or the stick that is supposed to mount on your mirror?

    When I had xm with the little square magnet antenna I would run it through the passenger door and stick the magnet on top of the cab above the passenger side.

    I have the small square antennae. Just tuck it into the curtain in the front right sleeper window facing upwards. Good reception.

    I was using a portable xm radio that plugged to the 12v outlet when I was in a T660. I used double sided tape to mount the antenna on the roof. I tucked the extra wire into the dash crevises and went out the driver door sill up onto thr roof. I used gorilla tape to protect the antenna wire from the door when it opened and closed.
