So why is it that FedEx doubles have such a bad rep ?
See here: http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...re/269196-poll-rank-top-3-worst-companys.html
I mean, UPS runs piles of doubles, and hardly gets mentioned ........ Does it have something to do with mostly O/O tractors running Ground doubles ??
I'm just wondering why NO ONE from FedEx has jumped onto this poll in defense ........ or if the posts in the poll are valid, and why ?
A bad rep ??

Contractor to FXG here. Been busy driving.
What do you want us to say? I'm not going to defend every yahoo where I work. I don't know them from Adam. What I can say is hubby and I are a 2 million mile safe team and we contract out to them.
Not all drivers at any company are idiots. We all have a few fruit loops in the closet. /shrugSnowshoes, Speedloader, mnmover and 6 others Thank this. -
Can't defend the indefensible. Fed Ex ground drivers are some of the worst I've ever had the displeasure of encountering. They're, overall, rude, disrespectful and discourteous, real crap heads. Fed Ex ground has nothing but contractors driving for them, either owner operators or fleet owners, Fed Ex doesn't even own the shop facilities at the hubs. Fed Ex owns the trailers and the hub buildings but everything else is contracted out. I really hate that as a ground driver (I work for a contractor) that I'm lumped in with the rest of the morons, but I drive my way, the way I always have that's gotten me nearly 2 million accident and ticket free miles and try not to worry about the rest of the morons that have the same name on the side of the truck. I would've gotten another job somewhere else, Fed Ex Freight tried hiring me, but I really like what I'm doing, it's easy "work", it's really pretty stress free and I make enough to pay my bills.
LoneCowboy, Bigcountry8079, Big Don and 2 others Thank this. -
That's great, and I appreciate the responses. I'm in the process of buying out a current contractor with FedExG and I'm trying to understand where all the 'bad press' has come from, and why ? Cheers.

My take on why they have a bad rep is because they are hard pressed for time and getting rushed leads to making mistakes. I run loads for them pretty regularly and their loads are fairly tight. not a lot of room for error.

Speedloader and Big Don Thank this. -
Good and bad, just like everywhere else.
A couple of high profile crashes hasn't helped.
May be just the brand recognition aspect too.
Most are fairly well behaved, most of the time.Speedloader Thanks this. -
And I concur with the high profile wrecks ..... there always seems to be a smart phone recording somewhere ................... -
When we pulled FedEx loads at US Xpress....it had to get there on time or US Xpress paid a $5,000 fine to FedEx.

no matter road conditions they have to have OTD
then of course the doubles are "wiggling" around to start with
if your going over Elk Mountain WY the doubles are still in the left laneTruckDuo Thanks this.
