I'm curious if anyone has gone through this program with IDC and, if so, what can I expect, I already have my CDL, I just need to transfer it to Washington state. I'll be getting out in a few months and plan on staying in the Tacoma area so I'm thinking about taking advantage of the opportunity. I've already filled out the application online and talked to James, he invited me down to check out the Tacoma facility.

the god forsake Tacoma. Run Run Run from there you will get waterlogged up there. lmao are you a resident yet or just still in service . do a home of record change with your S1 then go to dmv and transfer to a WA state CDL but you must have a residence address, good luck that state is dreadful in my opinion, I was stationed there for many years. and glad to get back to the south when i got out.

See if James can set you up with one of the people who went through the program. They will likely be honest with you. Doesn't look like your getting much of a response on here.

I took a tour of the facility with James yesterday. Really nice place! He explained everything I need to do to get started. Thanks!

I know that i am not in the area, but would you mind posting it in here for future posters to search? That way if another person in your shoes comes along they can find the info quickly.

All that's needed as far as PPW goes is a working copy of your DD214 and a copy of your 348. I filled out the application online and was called by the recruiter right away. She sent my info to James. He called me and we set up a time to take a tour of the Tacoma terminal.
lcfd15 Thanks this. -
Lcfd16, I see you were at Campbell, who were you with? I was there from 07-11 with 106th Trans.

Nice to meet you Rakkasan! I had a couple of Soldiers that deployed with 3-187 in '09.

Sorry, I don't know a ton about the program. All I can say is that when they wanted me as a trainer, they claimed Mon-Fri home nightly. That said, you'll most likely be doing short runs (say Tacoma to Portland and back) during training. You'll do almost all the driving, fueling, scaling, backing, etc (except demonstrations of course).
I've spotted a few and they were using condo cabs, not daycabs.
Former AF and inspector for Ft Lewis rigs (Hummer to Hemmit).Kapn Thanks this.
