So boring without DnaMach, etc. Remind me again why Knight is so bad? :biggrin_25518:

(With examples from years and years ago, of course.)

    Knight is bad because:
    1. They are a trucking company
    2. They only pay what they pay which is never enough.
    3. You actually have to work in order to get paid.
    4. As with any other large carrier, you are reduced to a number and sent out on the road to haul freight.

I'm sure others can add to the list.

I assume they don't pay practical miles. So the driver will not get paid for all the miles he actually drives. Pay rate is probably less than I was getting paid in the '90's. Probably a high turnover rate, which indicates they aren't very good to work for.

Personally, I got my experience here and moved on. The pay is crap and you have to fight for it... training is good, dispatch is hit and miss. You'll be asked to run illegal and treated like an expendable tool. On the other hand after you realize they just don't know what the hell they're doing and could care less you can treat it more like a comedy routine but always remember the joke is on you. Its really not a terrible place to start when you consider alternatives like Swift, Werner, or England but I wouldn't stick around. It sucks but it was kinda fun and I paid my dues. I can't recommend them in good conscience but you have to start somewhere... and at least the checks don't bounce.

The haters have a point... Knight isn't that great but hey believe what you want... I recently drove for them and I make more than twice as much where I am at now (I won't disgrace my current employer by mentioning them in a Knight post). If you settle for less, that's what you'll get and it sucks that stupid or dishonest people and paid shills defend these companies that are actively driving down wages and treat drivers like scum. Defend them til your blue in the face, they sure as hell won't defend you. When you pull your head out let me know...

Sounds to me like nothings changed. A once decent company that jumped head first into a bottom of the barrel bottom feeder with more vacated trucks than they know what to do with.

Nice thread. I think Tracey is just a glutton for punishment. Defending Knight is about as noble as defending a drunk driver that takes out a school bus.
