ugh, that would end up being a deal breaker with me. I like the recaps... lol. I mean at least that would look good on the resume if you were to ever try and get on with the almighty WalMart fleet!

They have been running me on recaps. Two of the dispatchers there seem to like me. One of them gave me a card and was trying to recruit me. I have been running hard for them. I've put 4400 miles on this truck in 10 days running for them. Been getting lots of backing practice doing this. Most stores you have to pull a trailer out to drop yours. Extra work but I just keep thinking about the pay anytime it gets me down. I am usually worn out by the time I stop for the day. I start up 0345 tomorrow.

Wow, sounds like a really good gig. How long did you have to be with Knight to get that gig? Also did you have to live within a certain distance from one of their DC's?

From reading the THREAD its seems he has just gone out on his own SOLO after his training/ testing out a week ago

Right. I am brand new and just happened to be at the right place at the right time to get on it. I have run into other drivers from KS and TX doing the same thing out of their terminals. This was the first time I got to haul for Knight besides the load I broke down on for several days.

The weekend crew at Walmart has told me to get a restart. I have 9 hours a day to run but they don't want to do it that way. Makes no sense to me. I told the guy I'm not a Walmart driver and can actually get a lot done in 9 hours. He thought it was funny but the Walmart drivers sitting around didn't think so. So here I sit waiting for Monday at 0500.

They released everyone so the reset was a waste of time. Getting back on regular freight now. I enjoyed the pay while it lasted. My office is giving me a day of dedicated pay and 50.00 for the forced layover. That helps a little.

Great thread! Always interested in how new people are doing and different companies operate.
Misesian Thanks this. -
They released everybody because sales have really slumped bad this year.

Got a couple picks tomorrow going to Illinois. Easy load but I have heard there has been some inclement weather that way. Have to drive careful. I am just ready for something to do.
bigred81 Thanks this.
