OK.... so you want to do a lease purchase. Ok...I will be very constructive in my posts and not flame the carriers (even though I believe its very much deserved lol). I will offer straight up advice and direction. You can opt to heed my advice....or ignore it at your own peril....I mean discretion lol.:biggrin_25519:

#1 Call the carrier and ask for a copy of the truck lease agreement and the lease purchase agreement. You tell the carrier want this so you can review it thoroughly and make note of some questions you might have. (You will also take this to OOIDA or someone (like a trucking lawyer) knowledgeable in this area to help you fully understand what you are reading...and get some guidance. OOIDA is your best bet). The carrier should be able to send you this with no problems.

I have news for you. None of the carriers I am aware of will send you a copy of the lease purchase agreement or truck lease! Some carriers will tell you that they will not send it to you until you fill out an application. That it pure %100 BS! Incidentally....many of them still wont send you the agreement to review lol. Any carrier worth their salt will send you a copy of the lease agreement to review. When I was looking for a carrier to lease my truck onto I always asked the carrier if they could send me a copy of the lease so I can review it. Carriers that refused to send me a copy of the lease were IMMEDIATELY:biggrin_25513: crossed off my list. This is also one of Kevin Rutherfords and Overdrive's biggest rule. What do the carriers have to hide? I did have carriers send me copies of their lease to review. I considered them. The ones that refused to send me any documentation were kicked to the curb.

Call the carriers you are interested in doing a lease purchase with. Ask them to send you a copy of the lease purchase agreement and the truck lease agreement to review. Dont let them send you some recruiting templates or some recruiting flyer. You want to see the lease purchase agreement and the truck lease agreement.....PERIOD! If they say no or try to add any conditions (like filling out an application) cross them off your list and move on to another.

Do not get a copy of one of your friends lease or get one second hand. Have the carrier send you what you asked for.....period! You need to know what you are going to be getting yourself into. Its a big decision. You need the proper documentation (and advise) to make the proper decision.
