They sound quite picky. Does their pay and benefits back it up?

If they are paying less than 50 cpm and/or $23/hr as top pay, they can shove those requirements where the sun don't shine.

 

My truck will do 67 and they blow by me like I'm standing still............

 

I make about that much with my LTL carrier. They are pretty much like all the other ones. My carrier boasts the same strict hiring requirements and professional/safety oriented work environment to give everyone the warm and fuzzies. Reality is that if there is a driver shortage, they will probably give some leeway and flexibility on their hiring standards.

 

That's what a full time dockworker makes.

 

Sounds to me they do more than just move auto parts. Not sure if I am reading this right, but I am under the impression that they specialize in eliminating drivers/trucks/trailers from private carriers. We have one of those outfits here where I live. Our milk plant used to have their own fleet of tankers/reefer units to deliver raw/finished product throughout the state. Along comes Estenson Logistics and took over all the logistical operations and got rid of everyone. Estenson must have been a lot more efficient... they are still running the fleet for our milk plant. Anyway, back on track. Below is an excerpt from Black Horse Carriers site. Do they ever hire inexperienced drivers who have graduated a certified driving school?

 

Probably not.
