They sound quite picky. Does their pay and benefits back it up?

If they are paying less than 50 cpm and/or $23/hr as top pay, they can shove those requirements where the sun don't shine.

    superflow and blairandgretchen Thank this.

They advertise $1100 per week,5 stops per night, delivering auto parts.

I make about that much with my LTL carrier. They are pretty much like all the other ones. My carrier boasts the same strict hiring requirements and professional/safety oriented work environment to give everyone the warm and fuzzies. Reality is that if there is a driver shortage, they will probably give some leeway and flexibility on their hiring standards.

Sounds to me they do more than just move auto parts. Not sure if I am reading this right, but I am under the impression that they specialize in eliminating drivers/trucks/trailers from private carriers. We have one of those outfits here where I live. Our milk plant used to have their own fleet of tankers/reefer units to deliver raw/finished product throughout the state. Along comes Estenson Logistics and took over all the logistical operations and got rid of everyone. Estenson must have been a lot more efficient... they are still running the fleet for our milk plant. Anyway, back on track. Below is an excerpt from Black Horse Carriers site. Someone tell me if I am just way wrong and not reading this right.

Our contract carriage mission is to replace private truck fleets, of any size, for companies whose business requires specialized trucks and/or specialized transportation services.

We have broad transportation experience across many industries. We can replace a private fleet, or under-performing dedicated fleet with a transportation system that enhances and promotes the specialized functions that made the private truck fleet an absolute necessity in the first place; and, we absolutely execute these specialized functions efficiently and dependently so that your needs are met and your goals are achieved.

I'd have to leave my company if I only made that much.

Do they ever hire inexperienced drivers who have graduated a certified driving school?
