I've been looking to go back on the road, but am only interested in a pay structure that ensure that I will make over $1k/week. If I'm going to be gone for days or weeks and work 55-70 hours per week, I really don't think that's a lot to ask. It looks like companies across the board are offering lower pay, longer trips, and fewer (or no) guarantees. When I talk to them, they swear I can easily make $1600/week, but they're not willing to back that up with a guarantee. They want to offer mileage pay and a governed truck.

I see a lot of "Top earners make $X", "Earn up to $X", and "average pay is $x", but no $x/hour, day, or week.

I have too many bad experiences, being on short runs, spending long hours in docks, and not making any money to be willing to work for mileage pay. If I can't get a driving job that is not based on mileage pay, I'm going to get rid of my CDL.

I think K&B as well. They keep showing up on my news feed.
But I'd be leary of them all. There's always going to be some kind of caveat. Seems like anyway.

One driver on here said K&B is the real deal on guaranteed pay and he worked there for a few years. I don't know how that would work out for NY residents.

GP Transco offers 1250/wk guaranteed. It used to be for a two week average when I worked there. Maybe they changed it. Basically just means that if a 1100 mile load rolls over and one week is 1900 miles and the next is 4000, it doesn't apply.

Good company and I enjoyed my time there, but found a better fit elsewhere. I never received the guaranteed pay because it was never needed, so that's a good sign.

Some First Fleet accounts give guaranteed pay. First Fleet contracts with specific Georgia Pacific, Kroger, West Rock, etc. Each location is a specific contract, so the contract is different in each location. AFAIK, all contracts have some form of trip, day, week etc, guarantee pay... I cant promise ALL contracts do, but I know most do.

They run dry vans & refers. They have yard dogs, city, local, regional & OTR positions.

Why would you get rid of your CDL? You worked hard to attain it and may have had to make a financial investment to get it as well. We all know trucking is cyclical with its boom and bust periods. I get your frustration, but in my opinion, if all you have to do to keep it is pass a medical exam, then don't get rid of it.

Foodservice company drivers make much more than $1000 a week and home every day.
