This just happened twice since November in the Spokane WA area. Both times the driver of the car was killed.

I have only seen that once, a foggy morning in Kentucky last spring but I was just mind boggled.
I was the only other thing on the interstate at the moment and I was cruising in the slow lane but I just kinda watched in awe as this guy rolled past me going backwards down the hammer lane.
Some peoples kids................... -
It happens all the time. I have stopped numerous older folks who was on their way out of the rest area. They had stopped at the rest area and headed out in the wrond direction.
There was fa fatal accident just north of San Antonio Tx on I-35 where this same thing happened, they left the rest area going in the wrong direction.
BUT..... not meaning to be cruel or sounding like an *^#( BUT.....if you were driving your truck faster than 55mph, you are at fault. You are a PROFESSIONAL DRIVER. You get PAID to drive. Even though this drunk idiot was on the wrong side of the road........you are responsible because you was breaking the law.
Be safe. -

Some states you can drive 70!

This is straight from the CA DMV website.
"Maximum Speed Limit
The maximum speed limit on most California highways is 65 mph. You may drive 70 mph where posted. Unless otherwise posted, the maximum speed limit is 55 mph on two-lane undivided highways and for vehicles towing trailers.
Other speed limit signs are posted for the type of roads and traffic in each area. All speed limits are based on ideal driving conditions. Construction zones usually have reduced speed zones.
Driving faster than the posted speed limit or driving faster than safe for current conditions on any road is dangerous and illegal. High speed increases your stopping distance. The faster you go, the less time you have to avoid a hazard or collision. The force of a 60 mph crash is not just twice as great as a 30 mph crash; it's four times as great!"

If the S-10 was doing 60, and the rig 70... that's a relative impact speed of 130. If he had been at 55 in the rig, the impact speed would have been 115... In either case, there'd be no driver standing before a lawyer. They'd be in the coroners office... BOTH of them.
Glad you made it without anything but some questionable laundry...
