I have been absent from here... picking up loads, delivering loads, planning trips, bumping docks, cooking, doing paper log... And now taking a 34 before my delivery on Tuesday about 30 mins north of here....
The other day I decided to take a "short cut" from PA to MD... Someone in the forum had said that road wasn't very easy... but I was very light and wanted to try... From i-70 PA took PA-43 to US-40 to I-68 and then back to I-70 MD... Saved me quite some miles... and a little bit of time... but not sure I would try it again... Too many steep hills, lots of curves, going 35 mph up and down, and 13% descend :biggrin_2552: on a foggy and drizzling afternoon... :biggrin_2552: GPS kept giving me one restriction after another... non-stop... I knew that road was ok for big trucks... So, I just "told" GPS I was driving a car to get rid of the restrictions... :biggrin_25519:
At the end of that adventure, found a great spot at a independent truck stop in Hancock, MD.

Following day was sunny and beautiful all the way to receiver...

It was a not so easy dock to bump... but with the help of the guy who works there, I did ok and didn't take too long... :biggrin_25519:

They were fast unloading... There were 3 other trucks waiting in line on the street... No place to stage after that... Had to back to street in front of gate to make quick phone calls and left ASAP to next shipper...

Ran over 500 miles empty... Then, parked at a Marathon somewhere in NC for my 10...

Kinda hard to find a spot away from the darn pot holes... :biggrin_2552:

Loaded on the following day at this location... More dirt and mud on truck's tires... :biggrin_2552:

And had to back all the way from entrance to dock behind me...

Was going on my merry way, up and down I-26 in NC when a flatbed passed me quite fast... Driver looked at me... had a girl sitting on passenger seat with her legs up on the dash board... I smiled at them and waived but they didn't respond... :biggrin_25512: I think he was pretty heavy... On the way up, I was 30 mph and almost caught up with him but as we started to go down, he gained speed pretty quickly and disappeared in seconds...
4 mins later, as I passed a curve and started to descend again, I saw a big congestion ahead of me and all traffic came to a halt immediately... :biggrin_2554: What happened???

Flatbed had an accident with a car... no idea how it happened... saw pieces of tire all over the road... :biggrin_2554: Seems nobody got hurt... I kept moving...

Today I came to this big truck stop south of Cincinnati thinking I was going to find a nice spot... wishful thinking though... All good spots were "reserved parking"... Drove all the way to the end of parking lot and found one empty spot at the very end, next to shop bays...:biggrin_2552:

Couldn't go anywhere else... so I parked right there... But considering I might have difficulty leaving if there were trucks waiting in line outside shop bays, I walked around parking lot looking for a better place to park... And as soon as someone left from a better spot, I took it... :biggrin_25519:

Nothing worthy eating at the Subway and Popeyes here.. So, I cracked opened a coco nut and after drinking the water, ate half of it... :yes2557:

That made me feel satisfied for a good while... :biggrin_25519:
