Just reread post. You can GROSS a grand but not NET. In time, maybe if you work 6 days and become a trainer.DesiTrucker Thanks this. -
Here here... ODFL. I was just in one of our terminals in South Plainfield, NJ. I'm a new linehaul driver, won't hit top pay till about 2 years. AFTER all deductions and taxes (I have 10% taken right off the top for 401k), family benefits, short term and long term disability, I can net 1K with about 2500 miles a week at .58 cpm. I can gross about $1500-1600. If a driver didn't elect for a 401k deduction, and was single (hence free benefits), a linehaul position could easily net them 1,200k +.
Skydivedavec, DesiTrucker, draker and 2 others Thank this. -
Also, I was hired as a new linehaul driver for Old Dominion with NO EXPERIENCE.
DesiTrucker and draker Thank this. -

Good info. I started driving locally few weeks ago. Fairly new driver. It's a small world but I cannot work for Old Dominion anytime soon. Reason is I work for a fleet owner/contractor that has a contract with ODFL. I have to wait 2yrs to apply at ODFL after I leave the current gig. I get hourly plus lots of OT(straight time) and medical benefits. I'm still not netting what I am wishing for.
Estes is close to me. Anyone have any info on them?blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
I haul Fuel and gross 1k weekly with most weekends off. Difficult, but not impossible to find.
DesiTrucker and blairandgretchen Thank this. -
netting 1k is pretty tough to find. not many pay a gross that high.
in utah, i don't think that kind of net even exists.DesiTrucker and baha Thank this. -
Imho you should be looking at cost of living not pay. Where and how you live has much more to do with comfort than pay. What good is a grand a week if your monthly bills are 3500? If you move or cut back even temporaraly you could get by and save with alot less. Your not the first to look for this but nobody asks why? Your a new driver looking for a relitivly "sweet deal" trucking has money but it tends to come with hardship and time. I dont make near as much as u could, but im comfortable and happy. More pay wont nessaraly fix anything. I wish you luck, those dream jobs are out there but not always what you think they are.
wawtrucker, stabob and DesiTrucker Thank this.
