Are there any companies that hire new grads for Refrigerated Trucking and if so what this the salary with them? We live in the Tampa Bay Area. Thanks in advance!

Stevens hires out of Florida. No terminals there though.

Most all of the megas will hire you. After a year, your field opens up greatly. People say that there are not many companies hire out of FL, but don't listen to them. I've never had an issue.

    dbrook Thanks this.

Most of the megas hire out of Florida, but the pay is horrible. He should focus on getting the endorsements and hire on with one of the lesser known companies. It could mean a difference of maybe $20K per year in pay. Why make $28K - $30K per year, when with a little effort can get the endorsements and make $50K - $60K+ per year.

    dbrook and 900,000-tons-of-steel Thank this.

But with no experience, pretty much the only option he has is one of the megas. Carrol Fulmer, Davis and Indian River require a year; Lessors, Twiss, and Dillon want 2. Diel Jerue, Landstar, Sunco and FBE are all o/o companies. Smaller out-of-state companies that have drivers living in Florida all require at least a year (trust me I've looked...) unless you look at JCT. They only want 6mos, but they're all lease.

After a year though, his opportunities open up greatly.
