I've been here going on 5 years now and I'm gonna say this, it's not the same company as I joined. They emphasized family and you really did feel it when I got here. The entire dispatch office was pretty much either drivers or military, and it really did help because they understood what we went through out here and listened to the drivers. Over these last few years it seems like the new motto in dispatch is "driver wrong, driver last, driver stupid" and that's just wrong on any level. Safety is great, our shop is outstanding, the equipment is good, no complaints in any of those departments, it's Operations that could seems to have forgotten we make the money to pay them.
Now addressing the $6 that comes out, they charge it to you ONLY if you take the advance and don't use at least 50% of it on the lumped or tolls, but 51% they'll eat the cost and just charge you the unused portion. -
Nelson are you still with them? I'm scared of picking the wrong people to work for after having some bad times.

I've had situations where a lumper service wanted cash instead of a comcheck or something else would happen where one or the other was complaining about payment. If it got to the point that I was going in circles, I'd give the lumper service my companies phone number and vice versa. I would tell them to figure it out and let me know what they decide to do. After a little bit, one of them would usually get their heads out of their #####.
But in all my years of trucking, I have never ever been asked to pay a lumper fee out of my own pocket. If I was asked, the person asking would hear a loud laugh that would get a little more distant as I pulled the phone away from my face to press the 'end call' button. -
My only experience with CF was while I was walking my dog a Carroll Fulmer backed up next to my truck while we were out back of it, he ripped off his mudflaps against the high curb. Next morning I get up and see the truck is gone but the mudflaps are still there perfectly standing up. I took the generic yellow ones off my Swift trailer and put the CF ones on lol and ran across the country up into Montana someplace. All the way the CB was lit up with drivers asking if Swift bought CF lol. I'd say 'yeah' and tell them (looking around at the truck companies driving around me) and say that company was next to be bought up by Swift too lol these guys would go off about how they'd quit yesterday if Swift bought their company.
Steel Dragon, 123456 and 88 Alpha Thank this. -
