Dont work for this company if you are a student or pro driver!!! Ive been driveing for years and this has to be the worst company out there.. The recuriters are liars, the company is cheep and dose not care at all about their drivers. The company threatens to fire drivers over anything. But here are the major reasons not to work for ptl. Low to no miles, lots of sitting, $35 layover pay for every 48 hours you sit not 24. 62 mph trucks that are falling apart and beat up.The company thinks duck tape and spray paint can fix anything. Equipment is old and the newer stuff looks old the way they take care of it.Some of their trucks have 700,000 plus miles on them and they wont buy new ones. No insurance for six months after hire and when you can get it you wont want it. Its a rip off and wont cover much. 35 cents a mile is top pay and down from there so if you have 2 to 30 years driveing you would be started at 35 cents less than that is less pay.The dispatchers are rude and could care less about you. You cant idle the trucks over 40% or they will fire you so this = freezing in winter and burning up in the summer. I could go on and on this company makes swift look like a 5 star company, no joke. So let your self be warned!! Next time you see a ptl driver tell him or her how sorry you are for them....
