So, let me get this straight. The guy I quoted above is ######## that Knight gets pulled out back all the time, and now you are bellyaching that they are keeping a closer eye on their equipment?
Okayy....DriveItUSA Thanks this. -
More like straight up telling you that they are trying to block their pennies. -
I was in orientation for knight and the thing that really irritated me so bad, to the point that I left orientation altogether, was their idle policy and the argument I got into with the shop manager in orientation when he asked the class " what gear is it safe to start out when you're bobtail?" I replied two or three....,,and he got PISSED. So PISSED that he called me a know it all in class! Lmao!
classy man you sharp shop manager you! REAL INTELLIGENT! Ask a prospective driver that can make the company 1/2 a million in revenue of freight a year a question, and when he answers YOU PUT HIM DOWN IN FROMT OD THE WHOLE CLASS......a BRILLIANT MANAGEMENT STYLE AMONG THE KNIGHT EXECS -

That would explain the constant clutch and transmission problems- I suppose. -
Complete idiots are par for the course at Knight. That's why they chew up and spit out office personnel just as fast as the recycle drivers.
RizenPhoenix Thanks this. -
Thats freaking beautiful, not to mention true.Last edited by a moderator: May 9, 2015

1. Your experience is simply not typical. Sorry.
2. This post originated in 2009, and, either you were at a poorly run facility (which I have a hard time imagining), or you are lousy at communicating using the proper chain of command.
This company, as it stands now, does NONE of these things. They are either made up, or, old news that Kevin Knight has corrected. In either case, I find the bulk of your post to be inaccurate to say the least.
Orientation is NOT one big company policy spiel. True, company policy is gone over, but also reviewed is basic D.O.T. safety policies, truck operations, inspection procedure, Smith System Driving, and a number of other things pertinent to operating a truck.
While Seawind is entitled to his opinion, seek out a Knight Driver, ask us how WE feel. You'll find this type of story is a rare occurrence.
