Happy delay or breakdown

Anybody here recall any bad delays or breakdowns turning into a good experiance?
I was in Sheboygan,WI. The shipper was 18hrs late loading me. Man I was mad but what to do. I took a walk into town and ended up having a great day walking the beach along Lake Michigan, had fish and chips in town, browsed through the stores ect. Left Sheboygan feeling rested and hoping that if I ever go back I get another long delay.
Another time was breaking down in Memphis. Took a taxi into town. Had a great time and met some great people.
