One must be very unrealistic to get upset with noise or smell of a truck next to them... I have had loud trucks parked next to me, folks smoking on their windows and getting the freaking smell inside the truck even with my windows closed... But hey... what can I expect at truck stops? I will definitely not tell anybody to turn their noise off or stop smoking... All I can do is move somewhere else, if possible...
wore out Thanks this. -

Sitting down the road at the dare I say it " wanna be" truck stop pilot in Tyler, TX.
Already found a load out of Dallas. Gonna turn and burn head out to Idaho, before white stuff fly's.Rocks Thanks this. -
Today was a very UNPRODUCTIVE day... Woke up at the receiver... and he was going to unload me in the middle of his yard... no dock or nothing...
So... he told me I would have to put all the 42 big boxes of product on pallets and bring them to the tail of the trailer so he could unload with his fork lift...
Huh.... You know what? NO WAY... Broker and my co. had told me this was a no-touch load and I wasn't going to touch it at all...
So, I called DSP and she contacted broker.... and it took them almost 4 hrs to find someone to go there and do the labor...
And the load I was going to pick up at 13:00 was re-scheduled for tomorrow...
I learned one thing... next time a see a customer location like that on Google satellite, I will ask them how they intend to unload trailer cause I definitely don't touch broker's freight and if arrangements need to be done, they better do it before I get there to avoid waste of time...
So... in order to find free trucking parking this evening near my next pick up tomorrow, I avoided taking US 101 and took some restricted roads instead... and the amount of miles where the same...
Now I am at this "rotten" truck stop on I-5...
I mean, the truck stop is called Rotten something... -
Parked at the house earlier took a nap right off. Nogales turnarounds are starting not to agree with me I think. I'm glad to be hauling rice tomorrow out of farm bins to the barge.

That one looks familiar Miss Rocks...
Third full up spot was the charm tonight. Hopper truck pulls out right in front of me. Do a quick turn around, and start backing in before anyone can beat me to it. PEElot, Sulphur Springs TX.
Rocks Thanks this.
