Having to drop a deuce on hwy 2 north of Calgary, on the shoulder, under my trailer, protected by side skirts, in -10 degree weather. That was ok, but you should have seen the look on my face when I came out from under my trailer, roll of toilet paper in hand, and a nice lady waiting for me to make sure I wasn't broke down. Such nice people in that part of Canada.

other one was when i got off the road in the early 90s for a bit and worked for a county road dept. in iowa .
forget to hook the chains that held the brand new state of the art sander into the box of a brand new mack ...while slingin sand and plowing at about 50 mph the sand started to bridge in the sander so i raised the box a bit ...when i did the sander went flying out of the box cartwheeling down the road ending up in a deep ditch .
25k sander destroyed ..no one hurt tho.

ok, here is my personal favorite and I still laugh about it today...

This was before GPS, and one actually had to use a map....

Now I was coming out of portland, Oregon with a load that ended up in Heber city, UT. with a set of doubles......ok looking at the map and plotting the course out I knew all I had to do was follow 84 to 15 back to 84.....so far so good.....except.....

Next thing I knew I ended up at the Wyoming port of entry and of course had to pull in to scale and park....Walked inside and the dot officer asked me what the heck I was doing, I told him I was headed to Heber city, UT and really not sure how I ended up in wyoming..

Next words out of his mouth were goto next exit turn around and follow 84 to 80 west...

Well being new, I did that and learned that 84/80 split.... never made that mistake again......

    Several years back:

Followed my GPS. Went 18 miles south to the next exit for it say turn around. My next drop was on other side 4 lane highway. Killed 45 minutes, If I Just read the signs. It was 2 minutes through a intersection in the commercial park.

Since that brain fart, never ever relied on GPS alone. It's a Tool and only a tool maintained by other humans.

[QUOTEago =bigdogpile;4528063]Sleeping on the steering wheel on the on-ramp when the truck parked next to you starts to pull forwwheel ard and you peek over because you heard the air brakes release and you raise your head in a panic and reach for your brake release buttons just to find they are already set and you wonder wtf I'm not rolling backwards....[/QUOTE]

Years ago, I used to run hard. I would pull over and park on a ramp behind another truck and put my head down on the steering wheel to sleep 1or 2 hours, and then get moving if I had an appointment to make. Often times the truck in front of me would have his parking lights on. On several occasions, I woke up and thought I was about to rearend another truck and tried to push the brake pedal through the floor. Except the truck didn't feel like it was even slowing down. .....but I also wasn't hitting the other truck. On one particular occasion when I did this, I was so tired, I hit the brakes and tried to steer, and nothing was reacting. I had to roll down the window and look down at the asphalt to make sure I was stopped. Then I said screw this and climbed in the sleeper.
