Normie, That is the new diesel semi-boat. Yep, the pipes have been converted into snorkels that bring in the fresh air to run the engines while near the surface. Once fully submerged, the engine automatically converts to battery power. You see this is the new diesel hybrid and water crossings will greatly ease congestion on the highways. Oh, and using the aforementioned "pontoon kit" the unit can be converted into a barge for navigation in the inter-coastal waterways. Pretty cool, huh?:biggrin_25523:

You can also drop down 57 to gilman on hyw 24 turn left is a mickey D's with a lot of truck parking on left. Across the street is a burger king with limited truck parking or the truck stop is past that on the left, but it will probably be full.

Just finished cleaning the Cascadia that a got. This truck is awful and I think will be very unconfortable in it. :biggrin_25510: I have always been very confortable in all the Columbias that I have driven before. I had 8 shelves in the Columbia, enough room for my cooler, my food, my paperwork and everything else. This Cascadia has 2 shelves only and no place for my cooler other than on the passenger seat. Now I am trying to figure out where I'll put all my stuff... The little windows in the back are a joke, can't get any ventilation. The seat is also unconfortable, I moved it all the way forward but I am still a little far from the pedals cause I am soo little.... will have to have some pillow between the seat and my back.... I can go on and on about the things I don't like in this truck... The only way to move to a truck that I like will be going to another company... and this is a major change in life.... It seems to me trucking is like this, you can be doing very well, enjoying everything, and all the sudden, something happens that changes things completely.... :biggrin_2552:

Just finished my first week on the construction job I got started late because all of the rain we have had recently, actually I didn't get a full week rain washed us out on Wednesday...

So far all I'm doing is hauling fill into one of our jobs downtown....

The trucks we have are really quite nice as far as dump trucks go...They are Western Stars (glorified freightliner is what I call them) 475hp Cats, 8LL trans, air ride, air release gate, A/C, cruise control, and AM/FM..

He just bought two brand new T-800 K-whoppers that are absolutely loaded with about everything you can think of almost too nice to be rock haulers !! I will say everything in this company from the earth movers to the service truck is well maintained and top of the line..It was pointed out the boss man is real fond of all of his equiptment..

    so far so good..

have fun and drive safe kids..
