Please Help a New Driver OUT!!

So he tested out Friday. Today is Saturday. I don't know how long the process is at Roehl to get to this point but he's already put a good bit of time into it. So now, a day after testing out he's ready to throw all that away because why?

Again, just what do you think the gain will be from that?

It has to be frustrating being ready to roll and having no answers but it happens. He needs to relax and put it in perspective.

Tell him to enjoy the break while he has it. Before long he'll be wishing he had a day or two to just relax.

A very big part of trucking is learning to wait .

Not a lot happens on weekends in my experience.

 

He thinks he wants to be a truck driver and is already complaining about working a 10 hour day. This whole thing is all wrong. I will be blunt and straight up with you and him. By taking in the entire context of your post, you both have some growing up to do. Not being mean - just calling it as I see it.

 

While I was typing you posted a lot more info which actually made mine appear very harsh when it did come up. This situation at best does not smell right. Don't let him walk away and add insult to injure if he truly wants to drive a truck.

 

I don't know if it's typical of Roehl. I would hope not. Everything I've heard and read tells me they're a pretty good company to get started with. Typical or not it's what he's experiencing right now and it has to be frustrating.

There's nothing to be gained by doing anything rash though.
