Trucking is indeed wacky but look at the income you can make on any week most of us can average between 3-5 k gross depending on how we decide to run
so that'll come out to between 156k -260k. NOw based on current costs the net is between 57k-145k and that just for my truck. If i can bring home 60k+ I am happy If i run smarter and make 100k+ ill be beyond happy. We always talk about profit margins being slim in this business but i honestly think its all dependent on the driver and the truck first, and then the freight. All of us that are IC's have the best driver money can buy and the freight base aint half bad.

Check out this link below if you think trucking is wacky how bout towing the first link is pretty much a light duty used for small buses and straight trucks

this one although used is for heavy duty stuff anything up to fifty tons

now this last one will blow your mind they pull trucks out of the ditch with these or jumbo jets maybe a freight train.. THE ENTIRE FREIGHT TRAIN.

The lift capacity is 160k lbs. Would lift up any car of any train, but could NOT lift a locomotive on its own seeing it weights well over 100-110 ton.

great reference though. There are some out there that are well over 1 million dollars because of all the bells and whistles. The costs are astronomical when it comes to that profession.

I was being silly with the whole train part I seen a rotator that cost 1.35 million dollars. Honestly i think its insane I can only imagine what they charge to recoup that money over a life cycle

I know, I'm bored as hell and needed to type something. lol

When I went to Hazmat specialist school in Pueblo Colorado in June, The president for Crane Masters out of VA was there too. They charge the companies BUCO bucks man. I am talking about THOUSANDS/ hr for each piece of heavy equipment, plus fuel, plus man hours, plus any other #### expense they can throw in. The insurance companies pay for it in the end and it is crazy. an "easy" derailment (where a train just detracks but does not fall over) he said is an easy 20-30k for 2 cranes to roll.

So now we know why insurance rates are so insane. I wanted to get into towing but couldnt afford to go back to the bottom of the food chain and start with roll backs and wheel lifts

You should NOT accept a check without verifying it and it does not matter what kind of checks is.
I would take the agent to your local bank with you because There is new trick now and days about these checks especially eastern European guys .After 14 days or so The bank will say oow This check is not a valid so You have the money back.
Also, once you sign the title the the truck can be shipped out of the country within 24hrs.
Take him to your local bank because They know all the new trick to verify everything plz.

See what I have always done is I ALWAYS, if its Ebay or not, put in a clearance period time if its certified check or money order of atleast 7-10 days if not sooner. As soon as it is cleared, than you are free to get whatever the hell you bought from me that is worth over $1k. Hope it works out for you. Also there is a scam that people tell you "Hey actually I am going to send you a check for 38k that would cover the check for the truck and shipping as its a finance check I just got, so just cash it and send me 5k back." What ends up happening is its a fraud scam, you wife the money and your the one that cashed it so the charges here in the US are on you. Have to be REALLY careful when dealing with internet selling. That was one of my start up companies that did well, but bored me half to death! Hope it works out for ya!

Not at all. Cashiers checks are easily forged so many places won't even take them as payment. And, for information, the same is true of money orders. In big money purchases, it's best to deal face-to-face with a bank; as has been said, they know the tricks and the complex rules of finance.
