To stay or leave???

i can count over 30 trucking companies from green bay to plainfield truck stop
right on 41
i bet at least half could know where all their trailers are
i cant even imagine driving around looking for an empty

 

thats the way gordon was... so dis-organized..

i have no idea how much time and money was wasted chasing empties and it is still the same today

 

1st - god bless you Grizzlybuck for working at Schneider for a year.

2nd - it would be worth a try to switch DBLs before you decide to leave. I regret not trying that myself. (I only lasted 3 months at SNI).

3rd - you may be interested in hauling bulk for SNI. Hauling general freight is a tough way to make a living.

4th - Schneider has nice operating centers compared to other companies. Unfortunately most of them are in high crime areas.

Sorry to hear your feeling/getting the SNI Jab in the ribs. I spent almost 5 hrs chasing phantom trailers in Chi Town last week, with my clock running dangerously low, one day left to work before home time, with my wife going into surgery on my first day off at home (that's how we planned the time for the procedure) but, SNI found it in their hearts to keep me from getting home that day, so sister-in-law offered to drive her to the hospital, that's why I'm looking at moving on, because this was the last straw that broke the camel's back! This company is to top heavy and full of "Ivy Leagues" finest. I, nor my family needs the stress, and I'm now seeing that I'm better than this company. There use to be a day when the driver was a respected influence with how a company did business, but now, the driver is the bottom of the barrel in the eyes of upper company management. Here's the problem though, all the large top trucking companies are all the same. That's why there is a virtually 100 percent turn over rate in the OTR trucking business, with drivers churning through the industry, from company to company, looking for the holy grail of truck driving jobs. Myself, I believe now that smaller is better in this business, so that's where I'm heading. SNI has basically ruined it, or at the very least, given me a bad taste in my mouth with driving OTR with large companies. Take it as you may with my advice, but take your experience and abilities and use them where you will be appreciated/respected and not dismissed every time you say something. Spend more time with that 16 yr old son of yours and your Bride of 35 plus years! You don't get those kinds of chances in life very often. Remember: Family, God, Job. Good luck my friend.

 

If any of you had to do it again or for the first time, would you choose to go with SNI or Roehl?

 

Nope. Neither one.

 

Well roehl was on my list to join when I was looking for a job. But schneider had a shorter training period so I pick them.

 

Did you have your CDL already when you went looking for a company?

 

Wow I'm 3 months late. Yea I already had my cdl before joining schneider. So op, did you ask for a new dbl? Or bear with it
