Out of the ones that I have been to, Cols, my home terminal is my best. The office staff is very friendly, walk up to the window and say who you need to see, walk in. The trainers upstairs all have open doors and you can talk to them. They have a nice lunch wagon outside. Laredo was also decent. Menesha is small and the shop is only Mon-Fri, 7-4. The terminal in VA, also small.

Oklahoma City has the best water pressure in the showers, but Joe's food at Lancaster can't be beat!

As far as just terminals. I like the smoking area in Laredo and that's about it. The food at Lancaster and by far the best terminal I have been to is Phoenix.

I would have to say Syracuse has the best shop the only down side is they are only open 6-5 m-f and 8-4 on sunday. but their mechanics are good and really know what they are doing.

The Ocala one is pretty decent. I have heard no complaints from the Swift drivers I talked too.

I had a rundown of every terminal all the way dwon to Jonestown, and I hit a wrong button and deleted the enitre post >:/

So here we go again. My opinion of the Swift terminals:

Phoenix, AZ- the biggest, and the most amenities. Plenty of parking. I like the cafe and the exercise bikes in the lounge. The showers are rather rundown, though. They will take your empty if you don't have a preplan. There's also a bus stop close if you got time to run around town. And the shop is good.

Fontana, CA- I haven't been to this one since they cut the parking lot in half (why did they do that?). I was a little peeved that the drivers lounge and restrooms are in trailers. Guess we're not good enough for the brick and mortar building here.

Lathrop, CA- Middle of the road. The best thing about Lathrop is the road is wide enough I can go jogging without getting run over. This is another one that will take your empty.

Otay Mesa, CA- Only been here once to get a drive tire changed. I got locked in a bathroom stall (had to use my truck key to pry it open) and they kicked me out onto the street as soon as the tire was changed. Very small lot. Very.

Willows, CA- Small terminal, but nice enough. Good locale to go out and enjoy the countryside. Be advised, though, they lock it up at night so no bathroom access after hours.

Wilmington, CA- a rundown dump with a small lot. They don't really cater to OTR drivers anymore. Last time I was there they didn't even want to let me in until I told them I was out of hours.

Denver, CO- A bit too small, but not as small as some. Another one that's not especially bad or good. It is close to a bike path, though, and a Walmart. Also not too far from the bus route. Lots of fun stuff to do in Denver. Good place for a 34.

Ocala, FL- Like the shop, though they can be a bit slow. Quiet neighborhood (except the airport nearby, but it's a small airport). And the Enterprise gives Swift drivers a 10% discount.

Decatur, GA- Not real fond of this one. The shop can do good work, but they can also cop an attitude. Office staff is all right, though, and it's another quiet locale. It's a bit of a walk, but there's also a Walmart on the south side of the freeway.

Lewiston, ID- this is one I've never been to.

Manteno, IL- I like this one, though it can be a PITA to get to since you've got to go through town from the freeway. It's a real quiet place, though, and there's a local grocery nearby. Small lot, but I've never seen it full.

Gary, IN- don't like this one at all. A rundown dump, with nothing around. And the lot is always a packed mess.

Edwardsville, KS- Free laundry. Large lot, large lounge, great people in the shop and the office. Don't like the showers, though.

New Boston, MI- Shop can be hit or miss. Good office folks. They will take your empty. My favorite is the Metropark on the other side of I275. I like to take my bike over there and spend the day.

Inver Grove Heights, MN- nothing special either way. A little small, but never full. Main thing I remember about this one is how long it takes to get hot water in the showers.

Eden, NC- Went here to get my first Swift truck. Cold water, lazy shop staff didn't want to work on an OTR truck. Never been back. Is it even still there?

Avenel, New Jersey- I have nothing good to say about this place. It's worse than Gary.

Albuquerque, NM- Middle of the road. Good people, close to the bus line. Coyote and jackrabbits for neighbors.

Sparks, NV- small lot and small lounge. There's only one commode and one sink in the ladies restroom. Do they think they only have one lady driver? But there's a bike path along the Truckee River right across the street.

North Syracuse- Middle of the road. It's quiet, and it's got a funny smell inside the lounge. Funny bad.

Columbus, OH- big lot, but it still gets full. Shop can fix simple stuff, but don't waste your time with the complicated fixes. Cheap laundry. Not much around to do. And as for that lunch wagon everyone rants about, it stinks to high heaven. I've never eaten anything from it since I can't stand the smell long enough to get in line. But if you're into the scent of rancid oil, knock yourself out.

Oklahoma City, OK- kinda small, kinda rundown. I heard a rumor a long time ago we were getting a new one here, but I haven't yet seen any evidence of that. I suspect it was just a driver shooting off their mouth with no idea what they were talking about.

Troutdale, OR- I haven't been out here in a quite a while. It can fill up at times, and I remember lots of potholes, but those are probably fixed by now. Good office folk, and good shop work, from what I can remember.

Jonestown, PA- my home. Great office staff, horrible horrible shop (run far far away). And a rail trail along the Swatara Creek which will intersect the Appalachian trail if you go north a couple miles.

Greer, SC- bit of a dump, small lot. Seems to be a good shop, though.

Memphis, TN- Good shop, usually. Rundown inside- bad showers. And why do they insist on cleaning them in the middle of the morning? Don't they realize that's when drivers need them? And for all the Elvis fans, it's within walking distance of Graceland.

El Paso, TX- Used to be a big lot, but they've been whittling away at it. I haven't been out to that one in a long long time, though. Maybe they've brought the lot back.

Houston, TX- a dump. With no ladies restroom. But there's one guy in the shop who is a phenomenal mechanic.

Lancaster, TX- Big lot, but it still gets full. Used to be a good shop, but from what I've been reading lately, guess it's not anymore. And everytime I go in there, the overall volume in the lounge is way too high. Why do people feel the need to talk so loud in Lancaster?

Laredo, TX- big big lot. Big inside, too. Showers are rundown, though. And the office staff can be slow.

Salt Lake City, UT- Too small. This is another I've heard we were getting a new one. We need a bigger one, that's for sure. The shop is pretty good, though.

Richmond, VA- Bad shop, but good office staff. Lots to do close by (aviation museum, anyone?)

Sumner, WA- haven't been here in a long time. But I'm sure it's still too small.

Menasha, WI- only went here once to get fuel. Was in and out the lot, and never went inside.

Martinsburg, WV- good shop, rundown building. I was happy to note last time I went there that they finally put a new showerhead in the womens restroom. Not much around to do, though.

And there you have it- my personal opinion, which is worth just what you paid for it!

Edwardsville KS- Free laundry machines. Personal locking door shower/toilet/sink. Hotel rooms upstairs if your truck is in the shop. Nice deli in the lounge. Former MS Carriers terminal...

Phoenix AZ- Creme de la creme

    Lancaster TX- good dinner spread

Greer SC- Nice large truck L/O repo lot

Richmond VA- Nice two mile walk for a cheeseburger.

Pueblo CO- Office staff is so afraid of drivers they lock the doors to the building

Denver CO- Your GPS will not find this place.

Salt Lake City UT- Wonderful 5 mile walk to Sapps.

New Boston MI- Friendly shop personnel. Beware the Prostar with the Lease Me in the window, someone lives in there....

Sumner WA- Must negotiate a complicated maze of freeways and on/offramps to get in/out of this place.

Troutdale OR- Great place to put your truck in the shop 4 days in and it comes out exactly the same way you put it in. Also if you went in with about 7/8ths fuel expect to come out with 3/8ths.

Reading 1nonly's post reminded me of a couple more terminals.

Gary IN- Grungy comes to mind? Got a message on QC a few months ago when I was about 1000 miles away from this place to stay away as it was on fire. Then a couple of hours later message said it was OK to come to Gary. Thanks, but no thanks.

Manteno IL- Was sent there once to pickup a 14 foot tall trailer and move it to the western part of the state. QC blowing up- something about an illegal trailer....

Fontana CA- If I didn't have official business here, I was welcome to leave...

Otay Mesa CA- Cannot stay here, must park out on the street, no thanks, I will go to the Pilot down the road, thanks.

Albuquerque NM- Short walk out the gate to fast food yum

Sparks NV- Park next door at the Petro. Del Taco and Mcdonald's not too far of a walk for breakfast and the Macho Burrito is to die for. Go the other way to town and have an Outback Steak. Nice Lebanese lady will cut your hair inside the Petro. You have to really launch those dice to get them all the way across the craps table.

Oklahoma City OK- Moon crater sized potholes will swallow your truck.

El Paso TX- Window guy will not give you an IFTA sticker if this is not your home terminal. Acts as though you are putting him out if you ask for blank logs.

Laredo TX- You can check in, but you never check out....

Pharr TX-- GPS gets lost so close to the border. You cell phone says "Welcome to Verizon Mexico!"

Lathrowup CA-- I like the snails (I really do-- long story)

Richmond has a guy that keeps it spotless in the lounge and the bath rooms. Wanna mess with his head? Rearrange the chairs! He is that OCD! :biggrin_25523: Iwas there the day after their shop super was fired. It took 3 days to fix my truck. And it still wasn't right. Shop open 8-4.

The late afternoon taco wagon in Lancaster has cheapo chicken tacos. $4.50 for 3 and get the green salsa. :biggrin_25522: The lounge has a big screen with the front row with leather theater chairs. And the TV is loud!

Memphis you can call for Marlowe's BBQ and they will send a free pink Caddie limo to get you! I always tip the driver $1 each way. You get to ride past Graceland. The lounge is too small for the terminal size. It has some grodie looking cloth chairs. Parts department is good, you can grease your 5th wheel 24/7 with a gun outside the PM building. Get fluids without having to write anything up

Evidently 1nonly doesn't like the oriental hottie in Columbus that sells the food.......:biggrin_25523: She is kind of snootie. Not that I tried to get cute with her! She didn't get a tip from me. I stood in line for 20 minutes to get coolant, finally walked as the butt head never even acknowledged me standing there.

The lounge in Martinsburg is 3 tables.

The Decatur terminal used to have a guy that had hot Chinese food in thermal pouches for a good price. The shop attitudes can really suck. Not so bad on the weekends.

Jonestown? I hate their planners. Always try to give me short runs. I give them one to do what I call my "East Coast #####" run. Then usually get off that coast. Got an attitude picking up a Tcall there from the guy behind the window.

Greer the lounge was big with hardly any furniture. Good and bad attitudes from behind the window. Same time, different person.

OKC junk microwave. You actually walk behind the unlocked door to the office. Sally did my 1 on 1 the other day. Time before she even let me take a random test without studying!! I talked to the safety guy and asked him a few questions. Nice guy. Very pleasant people. I heard the woman behind me talking to a driver on the phone. I askled if they were DM's? Sally said no. It is a small terminal and drivers know they call call them if needed. :biggrin_2554: (Try that in Memphis.) The terminal is a dust bowl.

Robert Louisiana. Humidity capital of the world! Nice mechanics there, and the office guys are cool.

Avenel. I was there once and that wormy guy behind the window on a Saturday doesn't like me one bit! My mentor and I were joking about him probably on the other computer looking at boy porn. I got tired of waiting for him to open the gate. I went upstairs and told him to open it up. He told me to do my loaded call. I could have sworn he told me that he was going to do it (as many terminals do) he has a heavy Arabic accent. BTW wanna spend the night? Gotta park outside that toilet bowl.
