Last tire load I did was in Louisiana during the summer, three stops. Last stop, tires closest to the front of the trailer, was slightly uphill.

    Never a-freakin'-gain.

When I was with gordon they tried sticking me with a driver handstack twice at a grocery place in Mississippi all because they thought the lumper was too high. I refused it both times and was told both times we were forced dispatch and I advised them both times that I could get a rental car and clean out my truck anywhere in the country...

    load canceled both times...

Tire loads are easy, at least the ones I've done. Roll them to the back of the trailer, then the receiver takes over. Some places the forklift driver unloads. One place in Phoenix with no dock, they said just roll them out the trailer door and let them hit the pavement, we'll take it from there. Didn't work for Swift though.

Well, yeah. Might help to ask what it pays, or tell them what it pays.

I did a load like that for swift when I worked for them it was lot of work but I got paid 50 to unload plus I think 15 for every stop plus some good exercise wasn't to bad some places pulled in to receiving stacked on pallets and they forked lift off but they helped me stack them last few stops were directly to tire center and just rolled them off the trailer not to bad and it was to Wal-Mart's and Sam's if it makes a difference

Some do just not what lumpers receive.Professional truck driver is the former name for drivers.Don't see anywhere that name also means professional unloader. If drivers don't mind unloading for free then more power to em.But I won't.Drivers should be spending that time resting.Does'nt make any since busting their ### when they're already working for peanuts. Then to unload for free then back to driving.Somewhere the driver needs to get paid for their services in everything they do if they physically have to work.

I had a tire load recently that was marked as driver unload - which I failed to see before I accepted it.
I've had 3 hernia operations and I don't like the thought of a 4th if I can help it, so I was a bit nervous about the unload.
I lucked out and there were people to unload it.

I'll not willingly do an unload where I have to climb up stacks of tires, period.
I might be able to do a few rows, but after that I would be toast. I can't even walk more than an hour or so with hurting.

I've had 2 driver unloads before. They were both very easy, just pushing out items to the back of the trailer where someone else would take them.
