Hello guys and gals,
I'm wondering what brakes you apply at intersections or red lights when you have to wait a while. Do you sit with your foot on the brake, or do you apply the parking/truck brake?

It depends on how long the wait is and how long it takes for the parking brakes to release. You don't want to sit there waiting for them to release while everyone else is waiting on you.
I usually just use the foot pedal.Last edited: Jul 12, 2016

A normal red light, its just the foot pedal. Road block, pile up, train crossing, I usually just pop the tractor brakes and wait.
I don't usually pop the trailer brakes, only when I'm actually dropping it or parking for the night in the nice weather. Winter time is a different situationKillingTime and JReding Thank this. -
If it's an especially long light or something sometimes I'll pull the bar for the trailer brakes but unless it's one of those times when the road is shut down for a while and I'll have plenty of time to air things back up I don't use the parking brakes.
