I'm guessing he didn't show his 30 minute break and didn't show where he stopped driving and went to the sleeper berth.

If that's true then it's your own fault for submitting to an inspection. They have no authority to compel an inspection on a driver/commercial vehicle that is not in operation, and when you are shut down, you can simply ignore them.

Done that a couple times rolling into rest area at 0200 and not wanting to turn on the lights to update the logbook. But if someone knocks on the door, I'm slipping out of bed and reaching forward and updating the book before I open the door.

Why? Just see who it is, if it's a cop looking to do an inspection just let them know that you'll be happy to do so when your 10 hours are up. I'm certainly not going on duty and screwing up my 10 to do an inspection for a cop when they have no authority to compel it.

    You better believe there is.....

    Maryland, Illinois, New Jersey,

Maryland Still frowns upon 53' trailers not on STAA routes, Same with Illinois, (We still use the 73,280 on non STAA routes.

new jersey, You better be paying your corp Tax if you are picking up an/or delivering there.. They will tow your truck And Fine you heavy.

On the back of the Wabash trailer im pulling there's a little "extender" maybe 2 inches long that extends slightly past the trailer. Someone said to measure 10 feet from back of trailer to get 40 foot mark. Do I measure from the end of the "extender" or the main part of the trailer. Not sure if you guys have noticed these extenders. I know they're little but know California can be picky

    Pics?
What I'm thinking about is much more than 2 inches.

No clue what you're talking about but NO.
Technically you don't really measure from the back anyway.
That's just to make it easier.
If you measure from the back, only go from where the trailer ends not any attachments such as wings/tails.

40ft from Kingpin to Rear Axle.

Slide it all the way to the front and you should be good then worry about loading it properly to make sure your weight is legal.

A better word may be extenders rather than wings. I attached a pic. You see how it extends slightly passed the main part of the trailer? Do I hook my tape measure to the end of these extenders or the main part of the trailer
