Can someone please explain or actually better yet - show me what the correct way and length where the GPS is acceptable? I was just given a hard time at the Wisconsin Scale because my GPS was in the right hand corner driver side on the bottom about 4 inches from the windshield.

No ticket or violation... they just hassled me.

I bet you a shinny penny it is. I heard technically nothing blocking the window where the wipers touch

Those guys will hassle you about crap like that. If it wasn't that it would have been a "grease leak". Take 94 if you can when going north ... 15 miles longer but saves in tolls and that scale is closed more often than open ...

Sorry I do not know the regulation the officer was quoting. But I seem to remember if it is in the path of the wiper it is may be considered obstructed view ...

    pete1 and JJKid Thank this.

Yep.. I should of. I've know better but I let the rookie of myself show. Unbelivable... he told me "If i catch ya next time, i'll give ya a ticket and a inspection". Lmao.. I really wanted to tell him - Sir, if it is a violation then why not just give it to me and be over with it?

AS far as i know....... it can be 4-6 inches as long as it a) not obstructing your view, b) not touching the wipers.

I dont know...I guess he just wanted to pick on people.

If your cord is long enough, you can switch it to the bottom of the driver's side window; just right of the post. I had to do that at my previous temp gig because they were strict about the windshield.

So I guess I was in violation because I was 1-2 inches off.
