    "HOUSTON --
Traffic was snarled this morning after an 18-wheeler overturned carrying helium and nitrogen overturned at the North Freeway at the 610 North Loop.

The truck was going from 45 to the eastbound ramp of 610 when it overturned. The ramps in the area were shut down after the accident.

The Houston Fire Department allowed the ruptured tank, which emitted a large plume of helium into the air, would be allowed to dissipate.

    The driver's condition is unknown."

Houston Fire Department rose to the task of cleanup this morning. Traffic in the area is expected to be light in the vicinity of the accident.

Let's slow down guys. Many of you are out there tailgating and nearly bumper to bumper on the second lane trying to push the 1mph-slower guy off back to the right lane. We don't need to be doing this. My family is out there driving on those roads and so are yours. You keep safe distance for mine and I'll keep safe distance for yours.

Houston residents were doing their impression of oopaloompas for hours.

Maybe he had too much helium in the tank and the tires kept coming off the ground (this was said jokingly by the way)

Not so loud, DOT will be mandating helium detectors on everybody's valve stems before next Tuesday!

Had a driver try to make me believe that a company was making bubble wrap filled with helium. He said he had a whole trailer load. Claimed it was so lite that the company had to strap sand bags to the cross members to keep it on the ground....his story shoulda started "ya'll ain't gonna' believe this"...was good for a laugh.

I'm a witness DOT officer in rural WY POE asked helium tanker driver why vehicle so heavy. I's helium, it should be light. No joke!

The fire dept said "traffic in the area is expected to be LIGHT in the vicinity of the accident"

Helium is neat, its only mined near Amarillo.
