Clutch depends on what kind of torque Rating and Quality anywhere from 420 all way to 1500 as far as labor goes probably around 8 to 15 Hrs depends on truck and what kind of set up it is. Looking at probably another 150 in cutting flywheel pilot bearing, clutch brake, and shifter gasket. The only thing that can make it a little more expensive is if you need an input shaft if yours is worn and bell housing gasket or clutch install kit to do it properly.

Sounds like driver abuse. Just kidding. I had a boss once tell me the clutch should last the life of the truck. ( sounds like something a boss would say) Can't tell you the cost, as I always did the job myself( with a helper, those clutches are heavy) One thing I can tell you, I went through 2 clutches on my Western Star, and both times, the springs in the disc ( not pressure plate) broke. When I told the parts guy, he said, I could go with the "extreme duty" disc, no springs. Although, it did engage a little rougher, I never had a clutch problem again. Good luck. Make sure you replace the pilot bearing in the flywheel too .

Could very well be driver abuse. I've been in the same truck since March 2011 as a 8 month rookie when I leased it so you know how rookies shift. 800,000 miles now so that also plays a factor. I know I made a mistake the other day coming off 2 solid months running a Penske 10 speed, first thing i did in mine was forget where 5th was and dropped it while in high range into LO like that's where 5th is on a 10 speed. Momentary Space-Out may have just cost me several grand now.

Well if I had video footage of losing my clutch it would be an easy reference for going back and finding it again. Unfortuneately had the cam turned off again for that momentus event.

KW T660, no PTO. The clutch brake has been poor for a couple years. I just know my truck, I know how to get her in gear and keep her in gear without using the clutch brake too much however all that clutch-in at stop sings and stop light creates wear too. Technically it's what we are supposed to do anyway but I know it has to create wear just holding the clutch in a couple inches for a while waiting for a light to turn.

I was just kidding. Like I say, I never puked a clutch until I got my own truck, then like 2 in 18 months. Even when I sold the Western Star, and got the old Pete( in avatar) same thing. 6 months in, and clutch went out, disc springs again. ( although, it was pulling heavy RR containers in Chicago traffic) Go with the springless, it's much more reliable.

800K on the first clutch is good. No space out blame.
$1,800 to $2,500 Clutch, throw out bearing, pressure plate, labor, including resurfacing the flywheel. Get the factory clutch.

Clutch brake only activates with the pedal on the floor. What kills those clutch brakes more than anything is putting the clutch to the floor while still rolling.
