    Actually, a lot of firsts.

    First OD load.
First time pulling an OD permit on my authority.
    First time pulling/loading a boat.

    First 1000 mile day.

Yeah, yeah, it's not a flatbed load. I posted a flatbed load pic in the flatbed load section. I'll keep posting more flatbed pics. Where else would you post an OD load? Heavy haul?:p

Bet you made a lot of new friends when the boat rolled in the drive way. Not really any good way to put a sign on the front of a pickup. Did she run a little warm with the radiator blocked?

    MJ1657 Thanks this.

Actually no, she didn't. I'll add that to the list of firsts, there is no easy way to hang flags and banners on vehicles that aren't designed for such thing.s I was thinking of the rad, but the gauges didn't change.

I don't think I made any new friends on this trip. It was a huge PITA trip, but I stuck to the route and drove like a little ol' lady.

It WAS a long day, and now I know a little more what OS/OW guys go through in a day.

I have seen some pickups put the sign on top of their cab or use fence posts in the bed to hold their sign.

  8. Agreed. Make yourself some stakes that fit in the front pockets of bed. Look at pilot cars see how some do it. It will save ya a bit of nose obsturctuon

Unless your running mechanical aftermarket gauges or a scanner/tuner with gauges the factory gauge is just an idiot light with a needle, it will not change from low to high till you actually overheat then it'll peg. I have a 2009 SuperDuty and watch the water temp on my Torque App. compared to the gauge and can have as much as a 50 degree change in water temp without so much as a hair movement in the factory needle.

GM is the same. My Silverado guages mimic real guages.. but in truth they are not very acurate. Ford is like that with performance cars too. Mustangs are the same way. First 2 mods to my mustangs were always exhaust and a guage pod for temp, oil pressure and air/fuel ratio.

Ya know - on further thought, Good on ya mate.

I see so many "flying under the radar", " bootlegging it" - whatever.

Some days when I see someone just doing the right, legal thing, and playing by the rules, it makes me feel a bit better.
