Bud - are you lease purchasing the truck off Prime? I think they might have a problem with you up and taking the truck to Fed Ex - and at $1.47/mile TTT, I'm not sure that's the best idea anyhow.
Ougigoug, truckon, ramblingman and 1 other person Thank this. -
It depends on how you like to run. I got on a dedicated run from Nashville to northern Indiana back when they dismantled Opry Land and shipped it up north. Did it two weeks. Money was good but I couldn't take it. Tooooo boring.

According to the contract i can bring it. 1.47 a mile is better than the 1.00 im getting now. Id be home every night also. Here with prime i sit isually 8-12 hrs between loads

If it makes sense financially go for it.
-
What would yall do?
-
Nothing better than a guaranteed pay check in this industry. I would take it
-
Do it. You may discover that's exactly what you want.

sounds too cheap to me, but then again 1.00 per mile is just stupid cheap
Ruthless Thanks this. -
I dunno man, pretty sure the FedEx deal is getting one over on you. Unless your area has very poor rates all around. FedEx out of eastern Ny, Albany is paying 2.05 per mile round trips whether you come back empty or not. I have not pulled for them, but I have a friend that pulls several dedicated runs for them. Same kinda gig 4 days a week, drop and hook then return to Albany. Just under 500 miles for the turn at 2.05 per mile. He's been doing it for 2 yrs now and seems to be happy. Just some info.
blairandgretchen Thanks this.
