I'm looking for a job that has a 4 day schedule and weekends off. So far, i found liquor/beer delivery is tuesday-friday. And there's also a flower delivery job i'm looking into that is 3 or 4 days a week. I have an interview with a local company delivering fruits and vegetables, but they require drivers to work saturdays, so i most likely wont accept this job. Weekends off for me is a must. So what are my other options? What would you guys do? Thanks!

MLS... They have 3 and 4 day weeks paying $1100-$1250/wk...I know because they called and offered me one of those 3 day/wk routes that paid $1138...I'm retired, no more of that for me...But there's your source for that schedule and pay!

There are driving leasing companies (temp agencies for CDL drivers) that can use you. My company uses a DLC to cover for shortfall in hiring. Some of these drivers are retired or farmers and only work 3 days a week for us..

Hi venom_, yeah, that's gonna be a toughie. Most driving is be available 24/7/365 (366 in a leap year) Some places may have a 4 day work week, but be ready to work weekends, holiday's, you name it. I did do a tanker gig once, hauling liquid poopy, from 1 treatment plant to another, 7 to 8 loads a night and it was a 24/7 deal, trucks never stopped. When I jumped out, the "day" guy hopped in. I worked nights, 5pm to 5am, 4 days on, 2 off. So there were times I had to work all weekend, and have 2 days off during the week. It was a crummy deal, and I didn't stay there long. ( only reason I did it, because I drove a new 359 day cab Pete). Good luck, those jobs are out there, just few and far between.

Hi tscottme, I'm very leery about temp. agencies. I've heard nothing but bad stuff about them.:biggrin_25512:

Lots of food service jobs (MBM, Martin Brower, McLane, etc.) have a 4 day work week... Many of them work Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and are off Wednesdays and weekends. These jobs are typically very, very physical, but you'll be well compensated.

Food and beverage. I worked for a Pepsi bottler as a route driver for 2 years. I worked Tues-Fri and always had 3 day weekends.

Local haul may work for you too. I worked for the company that has a contract at a local paper mill. They ran 24/7/363.5, hate to disappoint semi retired but they closed for a day and a half at Christmas. We had 4 shifts, weekdays was Monday- Thursday day shift and night shift then weekends was Friday- Sunday days or nights. Weekend crew worked 36 paid for 40. It's out there you just have to look around.

    Food Service.

I would leave out Sunday night around 2200 and get back into town around 0400 Tuesday. Then leave out at 2200 on Wednesday and back in Friday at 0400.
