After seeing several threads asking about what kind of gloves work well, I thought I would give it a shot. I recently got some gloves from Caiman gloves, and have been pretty impressed with them so far. Here is their website-
    http://www.caimangloves.com/

I got the MAG 2980s, and they have far outperformed the usual TS gloves I usually get. I have been using these going on 3 months now, and considering I haul multiple pieces of equipment daily, they do a lot of chaining and unchaining.

Here's what the new ones look like-

They are goat skin leather and have held up well, even with being subjected to rain, grease, diesel, etc. Here they are after 3 months of daily abuse-

I would highly recommend these.for almost any application in trucking and elsewhere. They also have some waterproof and insulated models I may try as well. I may post more later- stupid phone is aggravating me!

Dropping in hooking requires almost no wear. I worked over the road for a year, and only use one set of gloves, I moved to a local gig where I'm dropping and hogan trailers all the time, and now half the week I'm hustling in a yard goat, been through three sets in the last year

I started out hauling steel. I think I'd usually trash a pair in 2 weeks back then, even the better quality ones. That's why I'm impressed.

I use one type of gloves for fueling(cheap, $2 max) easily disposable when they get the inevitable fuel on them and you cannot get the smell out of the cab without throwing them away.
Work gloves for working is a very personal choice. I lean toward the flexible dipped gloves used by sheet metal workers because of the superior dexterity they provide, more protection, I switch then to leather.
Can't seem to justify something like the OP, if they cost $15 pair and up. I lose them too much.
