Not sure if anyone has mentioned these before, but I found 2 good places to eat on I-80. First is Kwik-Star, exit 201, Brooklyn, Iowa. Great restaurant! I ordered breakfast from the menu, but the dinner buffet and salad bar appeared to put TA and Petro to shame.
The other is Peru, IL, exit 73. The Big Apple Restaurant, across the road from Sapp Bros. Friday nights, all you can eat walleye, baked potato, and salad bar...$7.95. It was outstanding and I was too full to order seconds.

I do like the kwik star. All kinds of great parking.People are nice and they do have good food. What I like is the free wify and its high speed too.
-
I haven't been out that way in awhile but you are right about the Kwik Star. Good food and I really like how their parking is set up. I always tried to take my break there whenever I could.

I passed by big Apple every week, never stop by, might do it this week now

I've always wanted to go to that Kwik star, but my company likes the pilot unfortunately.

Yeah I know. I just like to stick to the shut down at fuel stop thing. I only go there if I need to stop there. Start my clock when I start getting fuel.

Kwik Star? is those the guys that have all those big truck stops in Wisconsin? One that comes to mind is the one 2 exits up from the Wal-Mart DC in Tomah, WI... is that a Kwik Star or am I getting confused
-
Iowa had a trademark infringement deal going on, and the same company's outlets in Iowa are called Kwik-Star, in Wi and MN, they are called Kwik-Trip.Ukumfe Thanks this.
