Yup. I'm not too concerned over parking tickets - but its what I like about the USA. You have the right - so use it, or lose it.
I weigh up consequence over time and money spent, then proceed . . . guilty or not.

Fight it with all the reasons you stated originally, and how much of a financial burden it is to you, and after your cost of living/expenses providing for your family that ticket would cost you a month+ of savings, also tell the judge if anyone should receive the ticket it should be your company and not you. I think any descent judge will let you off, also tell him exactly what the officer said to you, and you will win.

I would fight. last ticket I fought & won cost me 2 day's pay 400 miles back & forth. but I won. and no points. it's the principle with me. the No parking signs are just like the no standing, no parking, no stopping signs. I see it is subject to interpretation. like if my vehicle breaks down & shuts off, I have no choice but to stop. no parking in your case, means if you have a choice DO NOT park HERE! I would fight talk to whoever, judge, court clerk, e.t.c. I was out of time, I had to pull over or face a huge fine & be shut down. if I was involved in a wreck where even if it was not my fault I would still get the blame, cause I knew I was out of time. I had to error on the side of caution & parking there was a better choice than to drive over my limit of hours.

I have previously provided the following in several other threads here on TTR: (this came from a thread on speeding tickets but the same principle applies)

Funny, Kiddo. I don't know enough to say what I would do, but the choice would be between PattyJ's "you did it, you know you did it, pay it and move on lesson learned." Or, fight it (yourself, no attorney) and try for the no-show on the arresting officer. I'd actually probably pay it, myself. Your ticket is yet another example of how our 1980's level truck parking locations aren't meeting 2014's needs. We get pushed into parking anywhere we can put it, but often times it's not allowed. Makes it tough. One more thing, there really is a lot of trash, urine bottles, even fecal matter dumped on the roadside way too often, so it's easy to see the problem, it's real. It makes me sick. I'm doing my best to leave no sign, be responsible, yet I get punished the same as the a@#$holes who probably enjoy being a jerk. We all do, the good with the bad. Hate that.
blairandgretchen and pattyj Thank this. -
I do think the price of the ticket was outrageous though.Had it been a 4wheeler they would have either got only a warning or maybe a $20.00 ticket.
blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
That was an expensive sleep over
pattyj and blairandgretchen Thank this. -
no doubt...

Its Texas, If you challenge it in court and ask for a trial they will dismiss it, they don't want to waste the recourses to fight it I say this because my brother has gotten 4 tickets in Texas for speeding in different cities. Every time he went to court he ask for a trial and every time they said "DISMISSED". Its not a criminal ticket for Christ sake..........................but there is always the first time
