Hey all, its been a while since I have visited this section of the site but I had a question for you.
Has USA started turning up the speed on some trucks from 62/63 mph?
I was traveling I-30 and I-40 in AR this week and for some reason a couple USA Trucks were taking a little longer to pass then normal and one (Truck T507) was doing pretty good at making me work a little bit in the left lane running 70 so I estimated the truck was running anywhere between 65-67 mph...
Just was wondering

There's a rumor going around that they are turning them up to 65 but mine is set at 63.

Jeez 65 don't get in trouble with that!

Shhhhh.... no one is supposed to know...

and lol jason6541! Could get in trouble in a 55 mph zone that Tennessee likes to have in Memphis and Knoxville areas. -
Some of us have had "work done" on our company trucks to make them run with the big dogs. I would not like seeing my truck number being posted on a message board after I passed someone doing 70+

They upped mine at my last service. I can now run 65 with no problem.

If it has a "T" in it it's a Team truck,,,, I think they're allowed a little more leeway.
(and I think "C" is for the trainer rigs.)
But after the big dust up with International, USA doesn't dial their trucks "all the way back" to 60 any more.
(The story I heard when I was there 3+ years ago, was that USA's shop monkeys were fiddling with the factory engine settings, someone who had no business trying to edit code screwed up a whole mess of ProStars and then tried to sent them back to Navistar for warranty repairs. International told them "you broke it, you bought it" and USA responded by switching to other MFGs. How much is true? Not sure. But they never had Cascadias and Peterbuilts when I was there.)
Also I had a USA unit walk away from me on I-81 in the mountains in PA yesterday, so he was at least doing 70 in the flats. -
Reycer Thanks this.
