Just purchased a 1996 Volvo WIA64TTES with Volvo VE d12-425VT engine and a Volvo VT1414 (sr1700) transmission. Of course there is now owners manual and the decal for the shift pattern is missing. Can someone tell me the shift pattern and any special practices in shifting this transmission.
Thanks

Contact the parts department for a dealer. Based on your truck model, engine, and tranny numbers they should be able to look up the DECAL and shift pattern for you. -
You will need to give them the last 5-6 numbers of the VIN number on your truck, and they will be able to give you the information you need for the shift pattern and to order a replacement decal. It might be a good idea to order the manual as well.

My bad. I thought the shift pattern had four gears but it only has three. Found a shop manual on line for the TV1414 transmission and figured the shift pattern from the gear speed chart. Definitely a neat transmission and shifts nice. When driving it home I found when you apply the power to it in first gear and fourth it will pop out of gear. Previous owner must have been a gear grinder. Anyone have any ideas where to get trans parts for this at a reasonable price. I should know better than to buy stuff at auction sales.
