I'm bummed they started buying auto trucks even though I don't work there anymore. I had one truck my whole time there, 07 Volvo. left it with 750ish k. i agree with Missoula shop, i always had issues they could never fix. i was once sitting there for 8 days haha. my only other big repair was at sfs and those guys rock it, always had good luck there. Helena is pretty good too. i was happy overall, if i had gotten one of those freightliners they had at the time it would have been a different story. i had to drive a couple on come occasions and it sucked.
How's their equipment (in your experience)?

People are leery of the automatics until they drive them. We hear a lot of good things from people once they have driven them. We are committed to updating the fleet to reduce down time and improve the drivers comfort.

I love my auto very much. It makes life so much easier. But i'm no super truck, i'll take a volvo with an auto any day over a long nose pete with two sticks!
-
When do I get mine. I would love an auto but I was told only for OTR and not shortline.

It will be a while. This years trucks were replacing the road trucks. Maybe with the next round of trucks.
Shiftin Thanks this. -
We received a new Volvo automatic and are very happy with it. At first, hubby didn't know if he would like driving an automatic, but now...after going through traffic jams, etc....he's very pleased. It makes driving a truck much easier. It's very nice.

I think they may have come up with a good automatic.

WKSH Recruiter - My fiance and I just enrolled into Dootson for CDL training and I have been doing long hours on research about what company we would like to start off with. I've come across your company after watching a video on youtube from a previous employee which highly recommended your company. Could you give me some info please? We are looking to do team driving OTR. How is benefits and pay for new CDL drivers? What's the mileage average per week for team drivers? Hows the home time? I heard you can bank your home time and stay out for a month and have a week off? Is that true? Any bit of information would help and be appreciated!

Thank you very much for the info! You guys are on top of my list of preferred trucking companies.

We are looking at some dedicated team runs out of Santa Fe Springs. They should be up and running by the time you graduate.
