    [h=2]Three months with Werner...[/h]
And every spare minute I get, I'm applying elsewhere. No one I've run into in this company gives a #### about anything but delivery of the load. If you deliver it while in your death throes, so be it as long as it gets to the client. You should also be ready to give it right back to these smart-mouthed dispatchers if you're going to work for Werner.

I trained on Dollar General and was told it was a physically demanding account, but it wasn't too bad actually. What sucked was that after I finished training I was put on the Family Dollar account, which was far more physically demanding as you have to fingerprint every single item coming out of the trailer. Lifting three gallon boxes of Clorox repeatedly from the floor of the trailer to chest height to get it on the roller wasn't working for me, so I told dispatch that I wasn't going to be doing the account after a week spent with a mentor to learn how to set up the rollers. At this point, one dispatcher stated that since they'd already put a load on me, I'd have to deliver if they couldn't find anyone else to take it. I told both he and my specified dispatcher that I would NOT be doing Family Dollar, regardless as to whether or not they could find someone else to take the load. After that, I ended up being assigned to the OTR group.

Mind you, I've been working for Werner since early November, and have spent almost this entire week in a motel as my truck has broken down. That wouldn't be so bad if not for the fact that since sending another driver to pick up my trailer, Werner has made no inquiries to find out whether I'm alive or dead. They have also put me in a position where I've had to pay twice now for a motel room because calls to dispatch go straight to voicemail usually, and when they don't I'm on hold for ridiculously long periods of time, whereupon reaching someone I find them slow to want to give me EFS check authorization info. I swear, if I was closer to home than I am, I'd already have quit. I don't know how it was when C.L. Werner ran things, but this company as it is today is half-assed at best.

If you're a fairly new driver and considering Werner, you may have a better or worse experience, though I'd imagine it'd be about the same experience I'm having. I don't regret leaving my former employer, PAM Transport, to come here because they were even worse, but Werner isn't for a guy like me who isn't keen on being talked to any kind of way by dispatchers who aren't bright enough to send you to the right location to pick up a ###### trailer. Idiots run rampant at the dispatch level, and I fear even higher than that. Fortunately, it won't be too much longer until I'm looking at Werner in the rearview mirror...

Well, I'm not to good at this. I'm just going to give you a break down of my experience with Werner....Werner Cares...

Started my way down to the Allentown, PA Terminal. You know nothing like being hired on by your first company. Did lots and lots of Research and figured I'd put everything I was hearing aboutWerner to the side and experience it for myself.
Got to the Quality In hotel about 5-10 miles away from the terminal where I met my Room mate. Was a cool guy, actually he ended up being from two towns over from where I live so I was happy. Monday comes and its time for the orientation. Starts out with videos, introductions, and paperwork. Physical. Let's talk about the physical. So I'm waiting in line and I'm called in everything good until I get to my blood pressure. Never had high blood pressure in my life and I get a reading just good enough for a 3 month card, not to mention the "Doctor" or "Nurse" took it one time and that's it. The guy before me was an average looking guy and I heard her say "oh your just nervous. So im assuming his was high, later to find out he got a 2 year card. So back to the story.
After completing orientation and being in Allentown where just about no one wants to work. They all just sit around and collect pay checks for basically nothing We were all told we were getting put in rental cars and we were going to Springfield OH. Was shocked because I guess there wasn't any trainers at the time but whatever were trying to get started so we can get our own rig. Got to OH, luckily my room mate came here with me because half the group was sent to INDY. Took 2 days to get a trainer. The best part of this whole entire experience was actually being with my trainer. He was a laid back guy/owner operator that did all 48 states so it was a great time and he taught me a lot, no bull ####. after being with him for 6 weeks I received the highest scores you could get on your training paper by getting all 3's and we were basically running teams the entire time after my evaluation and curfew were off so I could drive after midnight-6am. Turns out thanksgiving is right around the corner and he's going home for a week. I figured I would go home and be with my family for couple days because being out 6 weeks in a row isn't bad but you want to be home on thanksgiving and not stuck in California at the terminal for a week. So this is when #### started to hit the fan. Called my SDM aka Student driver manager when he basically after beating around the bush told me there is nothing he could do for me because we were in Salt Lake City and all they cared about was getting my trainer home for his home time(I live in MA) Well, I told my SDM basically I dont give a crap about what he says im off this truck for him to sign me off this truck and I'm taking a flight home and will be home for 3 days and to be back in Allentown for my next trainer to finish up my 75 hours that I had left. He didnt like that but he did it so whatever.

After thanksgiving I returned to The worse terminal in the entire company Allentown nothing had changed, and luckily I didn't actually have to go to the terminal. Waited 2 days and my new trainer was there. Another really cool guy, owner op doing a dedicated runway GA to NJ back and forth. Finished my hours got dropped back off where once again I received the highest marks you can get for your training all "3's" Took a day and a half to get my truck Peterbilt 387 Wide Body beautiful truck couple dings and scratches nothing major nice truck with an APU that worked I was excited like it was Christmas in November. Well took a day to get a load to take me to CT where I would be doing a dedicated dollar tree account. Worst experience in my life might I ad. First of all you need a rack on the back for your roll containers. So you have to slide your fifth wheel all the way back so basically if your heavy you're illegal one way or another. Good thing in the north east basically all the scales are closed in the winter so I lucked out there. Then on top of that they're paying 100 bucks to touch every box of freight and unload the trailer by hand which absolutely is TERRIBLE. I could do it but finally I just said F*** this I didn't get my CDL for this Nonsense. Especially when your unloading 250 cases of 3x3 1 gallon jugs of water. Finally got switched out. not to mention before that I made a whopping 5-600 a week. NOT the $1,200 guaranteed by the recruiter and not even close to the 50K a year guaranteed by the recruiter but that's what happens when you get into this industry as a greenhorn....you believe everything you hear. But now I know if its to good to be true...sounds to good its defiantly is!! You get .46 cents a mile that's true. You don't even get close to the 1700 miles a week guaranteed.
After getting off that account I like to drive so I went on the drivers choice 3 weeks out, 3 days home everything east of Omaha, NE. Figured I can drive so ill make up the money in miles. First week 350 bucks take home. second week 275 take home. third week 250 take home. fourth week 200 take home. Kept getting terrible miles, and Werner pays zip code to zip code so a few of my runs I was in Columbus Ohio where I picked up at a drop yard and delivered in the same zip code so I had 0 loaded miles. This all happened to me when I didn't have not one late load. So Now I'm due to Allentown for a physical because my 3 month card is up and I get back and my blood pressure is the highest its ever been and I cant get a medical card so im put on medical leave. Werner doesnt pay for medical leave home time so haven't made any money in the past 3 weeks but being home with my family is a plus so whatever. But the kicker and the biggest problem out of all this is I've now been to TWO doctors and don't have high blood pressure. my two readings from two different doctors have been 136/76 125/80. I'm actually glad im done with them and moving on but I needed to get my experience for a company to take me on. So I figured I'd get my experience in a nut shell and hope if you can get hired on by a different company other then these guys go there.....SERIOUSLY!!! If you dont believe me about the blood pressure i'll post the doctors notes I have from both to prove it!!

    [h=2]Werner Trainer Craps Himself[/h]
I am Sooooo stupid! While in school I got to looking at all of those nice posters with pictures of new rigs promising "Newest eqipment" and showing people studying at computer terminals (computer based training) and thought to myself "This company has got it together" .

    WHAT A JOKE!!!
    DON'T FALL FOR IT!!!!!

Recriuters are ruthless liers. I have an excellent work history (until now) and NO accidents or tickets and 400,000 old safe driving commercial miles. 36 cents a mile is the only reason I picked
this P.O.S. company over the other 7 (thats right SEVEN) companys that pre-approved me. Now that I am in this satan based rip-off, the other companys want NOTHING to do with me. I am now apearently tainted with the filth and stench of Werner.

At orientatation the first thing the manager said is this: "I don't know what the recruiters told you men, but you will be making .26 cents a mile
you WONT get a new truck of your choice, you WONT get to chose your color and your name WONT be on the door like the recruiters told you."

    How did HE know?

I looked around the room and took a quick inventory of the other drivers.
I'm very sorry, but I have never been in the same room with so many one-toothed, greasy haired ,unwashed, stinky, scrape the bottom of the barrell looser- looking men in my whole life. I take it back. The same bunch would fit right in at the homeless mission. I am sorry. it's the truth.

Turns out they ALL had serious issues. They WERE bottom of the barrell.

The 500 pounder with greasy hair who kept picking his nose and rolling bugers in his fingers was fired from Swift for running over a fire hydrant with his trailer. "I was lost. You should see how small those streets are" . He was starting out at .38 cpm apearantly because he had experience in wrecking things. This guy had an endless supply of bugers. I personally counted him roll and flick five of them before I asked to be seated somewhere else in the computer lab. No lie.

The skinny one with greased back hair, Elvis sideburns, pencil thin mustach and an ever present toothpick for his one tooth (you can't make this stuff up) was fired from the bowling alley and banned for life for stealing Earl Anthony's personal bowling ball. He also was glad Werner overlooked a semi-recent drunk driving which of course was a set-up because he was doing the police chief's daughter.

The psyco Iraq war vet (sans front teeth) who "saw alot of dead bodys and body parts" I avoided. After telling 3 lame lies in a row, all of which were stupid and obvious lies that didnt come close to lining up with reality, he paused and staired at you waiting for you to call him a lier so he could kill you. I decided he wasnt safe to converse with. He was a trainer at Swift and Im guessing he was fired for killing a student although I dont know for sure. He claimed to be hired at "over .50 cpm" presumably
for his skills in advanced interpersonal relationships.

A thin balding early 50ish man with glasses sat counting and recounting his pills. He had about seven or eight bottles of perscription meds in front of him and was quite concerned about his recent count. "If I get this wrong I could go into a coma and die, he explained" . OK Buddy. No problem! Here are the keys and here is your 80,000 pound truck. Be safe!

All of this on my first day! I should have followed my instincts and left
immediatly but I resolved to "stick it out" . What a waste of time and money.

All of my trainers have been unqualified nitwits. One was a big 2 million miler that CONSTANTLY tailgated and screamed at cars. He too was a sociopath and pathological lier to boot. This is proof of my old theory that you have you can be really lucky and not safe at all to get a safe driving award. Thats a whole seperate chapter that I could tell if I had to. The big 2 million miler had serious hygene issues that are so gross I wont even go into. I had to put vics vapor rub under my nose to keep from throwing up. He was so fat that it was too hard to walk to the showers so we just skipped that waste of time.

Ok. I will go in to it.

I could tell which position he was sleeping in from the blast of odor that emmenated from the bottom bunk. if his arms were up, you would be rocked with a blast of sour viniger/rotten sharp cheddar cheese from his arm pits. If he was on his back I was treated to the lovely smell of bacteria that festers in oral cavities that go unbrushed for god knows how long. I *NEVER * repeat N E V E R saw him brush his teeth. The best was, if god forbid, he put a knee up while sleeping on his stomach. Then you get the mother of all odors. Sweaty butt juice that I am convinced harbored not only bacteria and fungus but perhaps even disease straight from the pits of hell. He was so fat that I am guessing that his hands could not reach his butt to wash it. His ### was so nasty that I am ashamed to say that I caught somthing from his sweaty butt juice while sitting in the same seat. I am no doctor but I am guessing that it was some kind of fungus that attacked the crack of my butt and gave me raw skin like a diaper rash. I cured it by spraying my butt with lysoll against the instructions on the label. I also purchaced a folding seat to seperate my now healing butt from his nasty butt juice infested seat.

I tried everything to keep the stench from coming up from the bottom bunk. I tried to stuff socks and clothing in the crack between the bottom
and top bunk. I stuffed my jacket in the space between the wall and your head too but the smell did not need the wind from the ventalation to waft up to the top.

Every morning at around 4:00 am he would start farting. Not just little innocent farts either. Oh no! It would start out with just a little rasp. But after just a little while it was a full symphony of putrid rotting intestinal
matter culminating with him ######## his pants before 5:30.

So after I figured out that he was ######## himself I would go outside in the freezing snow or whatever was outside at 4:30am just to escape.

I can prove all of this and will name names if anyone accuses me of lieing.

Werner sucks and after I get my big 500.00 bonus for putting up with this "training" I am so outta here.

Lol, you know a bad company when no ones comes to the companies aid. If someone bashes TMC i normally post because TMC is a good company. When no drivers stick up for warner and they keep fanning the flame its clear you should stay away.
