I am new to this site and I have been driving for approximately 5 years. I began my short career after 8 years as a Marine Corps Infantryman when a recruiter initials WM promised me $1,000 per week. I arrived to orientation where a young guy, who was also a former Marine, but had never been a trucker in his life was teaching class. For the most part, I would say Orientation was decent. It mainly was a bunch of old crusty drivers trying to make themselves look like they knew more than this young man. He did well. I could tell it wasn't the first time that he had been "challenged" by older drivers.

After literally one day of orientation and one day of securement training was when it really went down hill. It started with a two week wait in a Prostitute infested hotel getting paid nearly nothing and finished with me getting into the truck with a shady trainer. I didn't think much of it at first, because I was only going to be with him for a few weeks. Then, he took me by his house. I never actually witnessed him on drugs, but it was very clear that after that point, he was on some sort of stimulant. I called the training manager, and he basically wrote this off like I was just trying to get him in trouble or something. I finally had my final straw when he picked up a woman who he knew(after I had met his wife a week earlier) and she rode in the truck with us. She brought alcohol in the truck and I was able to get a picture of the beer, which I sent to the training manager. They finally put me on a bus back to Nashville, and assured me that he would be fired and put me out with another trainer. The worst part about this situation, is that about two months later, I encountered him in New Jersey. He then confronted me for "ratting him out" right in front of his trainee and half of the truck stop. Yes, he was not only still working there, but HE WAS STILL A TRAINER!! I'm not sure if this company has gotten any better, but it was truly a sorry place. Did anyone else experience any issues like that there?

Never. Who was the teacher? Sounds like a new guy as the person that taught my orientation all those months ago was experienced. I had enough driving under my belt I didn't need to get on with a trainer so I started solo out of class. For me orientation went very smoothly, for the most part. I've heard of them doing this before though when it comes to the trainer. It's a second chance company so their whole op is shady if you ask me. A lot of felons end up there, I've met plenty of them when I was working there. Overall I never had any issues with my dm or anything (Imho a cool guy, down to Earth and never gave into telling ######## like the rest).

And for a guy who has served his country, you deserve better than this company.

If you read the post, you will see that this was 5 years ago when I began my career.

You weren't the only one, maybe he wanted a challenge.
Clearly he got called in and got talked to. Would been worst if they didn't even bother with the problem. Should of talk to his wife too

Once eyars ago my wife made a trip with me. When we set done in the truck stop she needed to go to the rest room. As she got up I saw another one of our trucks pull in. The driver, I knew him & his wife quite well & so did my wife.

He came into the truck stop with a woman, not his wife. She looked terrible, like she had every disease you could think of. He saw me & they came & set down across the booth from me. He seemed so proud of him self having this woman with him!

He & his woman had their back to the restrooms. And I was thinking, what is his face going to look like when my wife comes back from the restroom & sets down beside of me looking him in his eyes.

Wow, when my wife set down you should have seen the look on his face, I just wish I had a camera so I could have took a picture of him. His mouth fell open & all he could do was stutter!

Later on he asked me why I did not tell him my wife was with me? I told him while setting there looking at you & her all I could think about was the look I would see on his face when my wife appeared in front of him!

For some reason he was never as friendly as he once was after this incident!

I can still see that face with the look of horror on it!
